Animal ID: 14-02-13-00193Tanzi (female)
Tanzi was found during very harsh weather in January. No tags, not chipped, no lost dog postings have been found. She has been spayed and we have had our vet check her out, give her all her shots and she is on monthly flea and heart worm preventive. If she is not pure bred she is as close as you can get. She is very sweet and smart, weighs 46 pounds, kennel trained, learning basic commands like sit, down, etc, rides well in car, gets along well with our dog and even tolerates our cat. Because of our age and health we cannot be her forever home. She needs a loving environment and loves attention. We took her next door and she was very nice with their 4 kids, the youngest said 'look at her smile'. Have been unable to walk her much but she is learning to walk on leash well. She has given herself the job of guarding our yard from squirrels and birds. Please help find her a forever home. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-02-10-00567Buzz (male)
Hi there. It is kind of funny that my name is Buzz as I am a pretty quiet guy. I have a gentle disposition, am a bit shy, and while I get along fine with my kennel mates, I need a home with welcoming/easy-going dogs or no dogs as I can get a little scared with bossier dogs. I like to think of myself as a sensitive soul! I am about 2 years old, will be neutered before adoption, am up to date on all my shots, and would be a great addition to low-key home or a family looking for a quiet fur-friend. I am available at Second Chance Shelter in Boaz for an adoption fee of $30. I may take some time to warm up to you, but don't give up on me, I just need some time to come out of my very furry/bushy shell. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Alabama
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Alabama if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
