Rescue Me ID: 16-09-26-00191Dexter (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered

Dexter is a fun loving, sweet, happy boy. He loves other dogs and gets along fine with them, but does tend to want to be the Alfa and loves lots of attention ! He would be very happy in a home where he can be the only dog getting pampered. He does well with cats they just don't appreciate all the kisses he has to give. He likes to go for walks on leash, even though he is so big he has learned quickly not to pull. He hasn't grasped the concept of fetch yet but he LOVES to play in any form or fashion and would do best in a household with plenty of activities. Dexter is completely housebroken and crate trained! He also does really well in a ... (Read More)crate for short periods at a time when you have to be away. Dexter would be ideal with a very active family. He would make a GREAT hiking buddy and does well on car rides or going into a store. He is very sweet and tolerant. He has so much love to give; he hasn't met a person he hasn't liked yet, including kids! He prefers a home where there is someone with him most times since he enjoys being with his people and will tend to cry when they are not around. He also requires a home with a large fenced in area so he has plenty of room to play. He has flourished to such a wonderful dog since leaving the kill shelter in Marshall County, we know he would love to become someone's new best friend! Please go to our website to fill out the pre-adoption application if you are interested in adopting our boy Dexter http://www.southernskiesrescue.org/ (Less)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Needs to be Neutered

This sweet boy has taken up at my house. He has been here for awhile and I have been caring for him. He is a very loving dog. Loves attention. He is good with kids. He will jump up on you but he just wants love. He wouldn't hurt anything. I took him to local vet and he is not microchipped. Vet says he seems to be in good health and estimated to be about a year and half old. I already have a dog and cannot keep Ralph. He needs to be somewhere that has a large yard for him to run and someone to love him. Please consider Ralph for your family. He is lab and border collie mix.

Request to Meet Sippi Here: http://findmypetahome.com/sippi/ There is a $50 adoption/rehoming fee. All supplies will be included. Hi, My name is Sippi! Location: Fairhope, AL, 36532 (close to Mobile) Type of Pet: Dog Breed: Mixed Breed - Labrador, Border Collie, Pit Bull Age: 2 years Color/Coat Type: Black, short hair Size: 55 lbs Health Issues: No Behavior Issues: Does not like to be left alone for long periods of time. Needs family who work from home, a stay at home mom, or senior or semi-retired. Sippi is: Spayed, Fully vaccinated, Crate Trained, House Broken, Leash Trained Sippi gets along with: Babies, Toddlers, Small Children, ... (Read More)Older Children, Dogs Sippi is as cute as a bug's ear. This adorable rescue dog escaped death by the skin of her teeth when she was just a puppy. She was adopted from a shelter 2 days before the her brothers and sisters, still in the shelter, were euthanized due to a Parvo outbreak. Sippi was successfully treated for Parvo, and has blossomed into the sweet creature she now is. She is truly a miracle dog! Sippi is such a loving dog. She loves everyone and is a real cuddle bug. She loves to snuggle and considers herself to be a lap dog, despite weighing 55 pounds. She is very devoted and loves to be around her people. She is great with kids of all ages, from babies and toddlers to teens and adults. She is gentle and sweet, obedient and a little playful, too. She is one of those dogs that captures your heart within moments of meeting her. Sippi's owners love her so much. They are devastated to have to look for a good home for her, but their situation is not ideal for Sippi. She suffers from separation anxiety, and when she is left alone, she gets very anxious. Due to some destructive behavior as a result of her anxiety, the owners have had to crate her for long periods of time while they are at work (7 am to 6 pm 5 days a week. She does not have a fenced back yard to play in, so she is not able to get the activity and exercise she needs and deserves. Sippi's perfect home will be with a family, couple or single with plenty of time to spend with her. She is fine being crated for a few hours, but should not be left alone all day long while the owners work. Someone who is home most of the time would be perfect for her. Sippi would love a large, securely fenced back yard to play in, and even a dog friend or two to hang out with. She loves treats and bones, playing with toys, and most of all - cuddles! Please offer this miracle pup the loving home she needs and deserves. She is definitely a dog that gives much more than she receives. She just needs the right home with people who can be with her to give her the reassurance she needs that all is well in the world. Sippi will be rehomed with all supplies, including her crate. Please offer her a loving, forever home today. To offer Sippi a home, please fill out our online meeting request form using the link below. Once received, we will contact you to discuss your request and set up a mutually convenient time to meet Sippi and their owner in their home. REQUEST TO MEET SIPPI HERE! http://findmypetahome.com/sippi/ There is a $50 adoption/rehoming fee. All supplies will be included. Sippi's Personality At 10 weeks old we rescued Sippi from an Animal Shelter in Mississippi. The very next day after adopting her she became very ill. We took her to the vet who told us she had parvo virus. Her entire litter was put down at the shelter a few days later. Sippi made a miraculous recovery. She has always been very sweet, but we were advised that she is slower at learning than her peers due to her illness at such a young age. We believe this is why she goes through phases of anxiety and chewing. She does well with almost any other dog and is good with children. She is extremely cuddly and not overly hyper. She does get excited around new people and loves attention. She loves treats and bones. She has made us very happy and it is very hard coming to terms with letting her go. However, it is in her best interest to be somewhere that she can have more attention and freedom to run in a backyard, both of which we can not provide her due to our work schedule. Why is Sippi Being Rehomed? We have gone through training, given toys and medication. It has not helped. We have been relocated for work and we are gone from the home from 7:30 AM - 6 PM (minimum) 5 days a week. We have had her for 2 years and she has become a part of our family. She needs a lot of attention and with our jobs we are unable to provide that to her. (Less)

Bo is a very intelligent, engaged, and sweet dog. He is currently in a foster home, and we have had absolutely no problems with him whatsoever. He could be an inside, or outside dog. Bo knows sit, down, and look, but could be trained further. He does only have one eye, which was surgically removed before coming to the shelter. He is microchipped, but we were unable to contact his original owners. Bo is such a sweet dog, and is incredibly good with every dog he's met.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Alabama
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Alabama if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
