|Rescue Me ID: 15-08-06-00219Yoyo (male)|
Yoyo is a 13 year old Border Collie and Lab mix. He has been loved and well cared for, but family is moving outside and unable to take him to due their health issues. He is gentle spirited, 50 lbs, loves to cuddle up next to you on the sofa, he enjoys short walks, and sleeps most of the day. He takes his God given duty to herd large animals seriously and will bark at moose - but does not chase them. He also loves to chase the birdies on the beach, if his cataracts allows him to see them. He was raised with kids, and doesnt mind them now, he may get up and leave when toddlers pull on his ears. He does have arthritis and may be sore after long walks, he does well with the 1/2 mile walks to our mailbox. i've been giving hime glucosamine tablets in peanut butter and baby aspirin, which improved his stiffness. He has a tremmor, but the vet did not think it was due to pain, just age (whatever that means). Yoyo is a super sweet companion, who is loyal, stays near home, and is house broken. (Less)

|PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Alaska|
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Alaska if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
