Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Wow... JUST WOW!! Is Vada gorgeous or what?! Her name means Rare Beauty :) Which describes her perfectly :) Vada was turned in as a stray with her brother to the shelter at just 7 weeks old. They were so tiny that the shelter actually thought the were chihuahuas! They have tripled in size in just the few weeks we have had them & they will surely be medium to large dogs. We believe they are boxer/border collie mixes but still hard to tell. Does it really matter? They are adorable :) Vada is doing AWESOME with crate training. She is very smart & adapts to routine quickly. She also knows the doggie door!I am confident she will learn a new ... (Read More)schedule with ease. Vada does fine when left in a kennel minus some crying for the first 5-10 minutes. She gets along with cats, kids & other dogs...She is just a puppy in la la land. She is very happy, playful & loves pets & snuggles :) She will need obedience training as she grows & be taught right from wrong :) PLEASE before you adopt Vada make sure you are ready for the commitment of a puppy. Due to her size & breed, no apartments & we prefer she be adopted into an active lifestyle. If interested let us know :) Her adoption fee is 260 which includes her spay, vaccines, microchip & microchip registration. (Less)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant

'Lakota' is a sweet undersized Border Collie who needs a new home as her adoptive Mom has been diagnosed as terminal and does not have much longer. Lakota loves to run and play and snuggle. However, she does not get along with other dogs and therefore needs to be an only dog. Her current owners are older (retirement age) and a similar home would make for the smoothest transition.

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Az̼car (meaning sugar in spanish)! As her name suggests, she is as sweet as sugar She was found in the navajo nation dumped in the trash. She is currently being spoiled rotten by one of our amazing fosters who literally shed tears when she met her & heard her story. It is mind boggling that people can actually be so cruel to babies such as Az̼car. Unfortunately, Azucar's foster moves to CA on April 25th so we are currently looking for a foster that wants to help her shine or a forever foster to adopt home. Azucr looks all patchy because she suffered multiple skin conditions which are currently being treated. She had two ... (Read More)forms of skin mites, and as such she should be an only dog until better. One form can go away on its own, but is being treated with medication. The second form was considered contagious. The initial kill stage has occurred, so the maintenance includes two easy squeeze medicated doses to prevent reinfection. The process takes about a month or two as her infection was so deep. Your investment of time will be easily rewarded when all of her hair grows back and she looks like a princess. We cover all of her treatment, which will not require much upkeep from you. You will truly know you rescued and helped rehabilitate a dog like this. The reward will be endless and you'll never forget the memories you make with this precious cutie! She is an australian shepherd/border collie mix and about 3.5 months old. She is good with all dogs, cats & kids- but must be kept seperate or go to an only dog home till she finishes treatment. Azucar is doing AWESOME with crate training. She is very smart & adapts to routine quickly. I'm sure she'd figure out a doggy door easily or learn a new schedule with ease. Azucar does fine when left in a kennel minus some crying for the first 5-10 minutes. She will need obedience training as she grows & be taught right from wrong :) PLEASE before you inquire to adopt her make sure you are ready for the commitment of a puppy. Due to her breed, we prefer she be adopted into an active lifestyle. Her adoption fee will be $220. This includes all her mange treatment, all vaccines, spay & microchip. Let us know if interested!! She enjoys walks around the neighborhood and is content to be by your side chilling out, watching TV, or taking naps on a rainy day. Lola would make a great companion for a retired couple and she asks for nothing but love and loyalty. Rescue Me ID: 15-02-08-00700LANIE (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs
Personality: High Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lanie is a beautiful Border Collie mix weighing in at around 50 pounds. Like any good working girl, she likes to keep her mind and body active. She is four years old and still maintains a high energy level. Lanie will not do well with long periods of time in a kennel. At the shelter, she was becoming anxious because she was not able to exercise and burn up energy as much as she likes to. Then she went into foster and she has blossomed there; she has relaxed and her anxiety has decreased with the extra time she has to roam and be herself. Having her in foster care has helped us to learn so much more about her. Lanie is not only very ... (Read More)intelligent, but is also food-motivated, which made training her an easy task. She knows the basics -- sit, down, off and come. She also knows get your ball, free and wait. If Lanie is too close and you need her to back away, you just need to say 'Back.' If you want her to go to a specific area, you can point and say 'Place.' While Lanie is sometimes vocal against commands, she is learning the word quiet. She will bump your hand for attention, and her foster mom is working to show her that sitting quiet works better than bumping. She is learning that when she wants petting and affection, obeying the sit command will bring these to her, and that being calm gets her the attention she craves. Lanie's foster mom will hide treats and have Lanie go seek to find them. Lanie loves this good mental exercise. She enjoys playing fetch with a tennis ball, and she enjoys her toys; if you ask her to go get a toy, she will. Lanie still has some puppy in her; she is very playful and will entertain herself with her toys, which is fun to watch. She will also play-bow to you and then run around being absolutely adorable. She loves going for rides in the car, and she likes to be brushed, which is good since she does require some brushing. Lanie is fully housebroken and uses the doggie door. She does have a fear of loud noises; if she is outside and hears a sound from the neighbors, for example, she will want to go back inside. However, a noise such as a vacuum cleaners does not seem to bother her. Lanie doesn't disturb her foster mom's belongings, but she does seem to like collecting socks! She is selective with other dogs and would probably do well in an adult household. If you are looking for a sweetheart who is a very loyal and well-behaved girl and who just wants to hang out with you, then please do come and meet Lanie. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Arizona
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Arizona if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
