I have a 15+/- pure border collie who needs a forever home to spend his last days. My husband is not in good health and we have to sell our farm. We are moving to a 55+ retirement community that will not allow large dogs. This was the only place that met our needs. 'Farmer' is a sweet dog, in good health except stiffness in his back legs when it is cold. He has been a house dog, but tended to mark . He has been outside since our house burned down 3 years ago. He is not neutered, up on all shots except rabies and really, really sweet. Just needs a backyard and someone to love on him everyday. I am willing to pay for a placement in a foster ...     Due to circumstances beyond my control we are having to find a new home for our two dogs. Rusty has been rehomed we have only Ranger (the black one) is a Border Collie mix with what looks like some Cocker Spaniel in him with the curls. He is the more mellow of the two and loves to be scratched. Not really one for fetching, but will spend hours exploring or even go for a run with you. They are both great with our kids and love to lick their faces and play with them in the yard. Both were rescued from local shelters.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Arkansas
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Arkansas if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
