This dog was dumped in front of our house back in June. He does not trust men. Working with him and he has come along way from where he was. Very smart. Learns very fast. Playful. Loving when he trust you. Moving 750 miles away and can't take him. Could not get the pics to load so please email me or call, and I can send pics to you. He is very good looking and well marked Black and White. Working with him now on riding in the vehicle. So I can get him to a Vet and get his shots for him and what ever else he needs. Neighbors said that he killed their chickens along with their own dog being involved with it too. He has been abused, ... (Read More)but I've gotten him in 6 months to be very happy. Stays in a pen ok. Sits, lays down, knows the word 'no' and is very good in our home. Doesn't chew on anything. He is house broke. I'm now adding new info on him today, and today's date is March 29, 2017. More time has gone by, and he is really better yet now. Still hates to ride. I had to sedate him to get him to the Vet's to be neutered. It will take someone who has the time to work with him to get him to love riding. And will take gentle, small steps, to teach him the vehicle is ok. We will be moving sometime in the future, and we can't take him. Only because I'm on a low income, and already had a dog before someone dumped him. Otherwise, I'd love to keep him, cause he is great with me. But also since I first posted on here, my Mom who is 86, fell and broke her hip. Puppy has enough energy, that he could knock her down. So I have to find him a home because of that too. This dog needs someone with alot of patience. Someone who will not yell at him, or speak to him loudly. I can whisper to him to lay down, and he does. But his new human has to be very kind, and gentle to him, and you'll be just fine. I don't want any money paid to me for what I've paid out for him. I'm doing this for him because he is such a good boy. I'll be taking him back to the Vet in 3 to 4 weeks for his booster shot, this is after the other shots he just got. At that time, since I have to sedate him to take him, I'll also have him heart worm tested and anything else he might need done. It is a stressful thing for him to ride, so want to do as much in one trip as I can for him. I've introducted him to as many men in my circle as I can, and he has learned that all men are not going to hurt him. So he is much better on that now. I don't have any young children that comes to my home, so I have no clue how he is with children. He is a roamer, so a fenced in yard is a must to keep him home. He hates the hot weather, but loves to lay around and sleep in the air conditioning. Loves to eat. Doesn't shed much at all. Please someone, give this boy a chance! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Arkansas
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Arkansas if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
