Flown in from Mendocino (Ukiah), The volunteers have been raving about Ellie. I had to take her here. Super nice girl.Ellie was described to me as 'Bombproof' 90 lbs, (she is large!) Spayed, chipped, up to date on vaccinations, 4 yr old Akita/Border Collie. Civilized, mature, sweet with everyone, and great with other dogs. Ellie was cat tested with caged cats. No reaction, but a gentle wag of the tail. She's been out on off leash pack walks, she's rock steady. She liked to hang with the kids. She was always with the kid that was farthest from the group. She's a natural nanny dog. Rode great in the back of the van and hung out with me there ... (Read More)in the heat while I groomed the other dogs.     (This is a courtesy posting. Please email Tylyn at: woofwoof2u2@gmail.com for more information about this dog.) Please help Sissy find a loving home! She is an 8 month old, border collie & catahoula mix, with another rescue, and her story is a very sad one. When she was a small pup, she was sold to a pig hunter. Sissy does not have prey drive and wouldn't hunt pigs. He beat her for not hunting, and was going to shoot her for being 'worthless' to him. Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Vaccinations Current

*COURTESY POSTING - See contact information at bottom of this description. INFORMATION AS OF 6/7: Buttercup is a female Border Collie approximately 9-10 weeks old. She is your typical busy puppy, and wants to please. True to her breed, she is super smart, and already knows to go to the door when she needs to be let out and go potty. She is also crate trained and learning to come when called. Buttercup is good with other dogs, and fine with cats, horses, and birds. She rides great in the car, has attended a horse show, and is learning to walk on leash (she has been walked all over Home Depot). This pup is NOT recommended for a home with ... (Read More)small children. Buttercup is an adorable playful puppy now, but she shows signs that she has a dominant personality. Her fosters are working with her on her biting and mouthy behavior. When she nips and her play gets rough, they stand up and turn away from her. She seems to be getting it, and is improving. She needs people who have experience with and understand Border Collies or herding breeds. Buttercup will need a home where she can get plenty of mental and physical activity, and people who will continue the work of teaching her basic manners and routines, and socializing her throughout the day. This is NOT a pup who should be left alone in the house for several hours during the workday. Buttercup is located in the Napa, CA, area. She is healthy and up to date on her vaccinations. Her next set of shots are due on or before 7/3/16. If you would like to meet her, please call or text Colleen at 530-383-2604 or email her at cthallett@gmail.com Texting or emails are best.     Backstory: Happy and his life long companion, a Beagle, both seniors were dumped at a shelter in LA county by their owners. A rescue came and took the Beagle, leaving Happy behind. We were told of this story and rescued him. Happy has been in foster care for 3 months and he still has moments where he looks very sad, still missing his best friend. He was apparently the alpha in his last home and took orders from nobody. His current foster has made ... We do have a trainer avaiable by phone to help with this issue, which is very fixable with a confident human alpha. He is a senior boy that deserves a warm bed and a loving home to spend his golden years. PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in California
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
