Very good dog. She is a mix of Beagle and Border Collie. We have had her for seven years and got her as a puppy. She is food with most animals and adults but does not do well with children. We want to keep her, but she bit our one year old and has continued to be aggressive with her and we are afraid she will bite again. Ella is spoiled and has been part of our family. We do allow her on the furniture, so she is used to that. She likes to sleep in the bed, but doesn't like being touched while she sleeps and will give a little growl to let you know ow she doesn't like it. We are looking for a good home where she will be loved and spoiled. ... (Read More)Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to meet her. (Less)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Aggressive

Harvey is a agile and active little dog that my kids love. However, he came to us with a fear-aggression problem that we are not up for working with him on. He is great with us, but he has bit two visitors to our farm. Not sure the trigger - maybe cigarette smoke smell? - but we think he must have been abused in some way before we got him.

Watson is a smart and loyal companion, who is excited about people and exploring. I have had him for 7 years, but I am relocating to an area that does not allow me to bring him along. He is a very fast learner, and while not currently trained for a leash or jumping, he was at one time. He deserves someone who will give him exercise every day, and who will give him as much attention as he wants. He does have an anxious disposition at times, which is greatly relieved by exercise. Please call me if you can love my Dog Watson.

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-05-00078Cedar (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Cedar joined us from Utah. He is a very handsome 2 year old who needed a change of scenery to find his forever home. Microchipped, neutered, vaccinated, and vet checked, this playful, friendly pup is ready for a home. We haven't been able to test him with other dogs or with kids very much yet, but we will continue to update Cedar's bio as we get to know him. Cedar is reactive to other dogs in this environment, which is not uncommon. And when he sees kids while inside of the building, he does not react well. Outside, he's calm and doesn't seem to care too much. We'd be happy to supervise an introduction with your whole family to see how Cedar ... (Read More)gets along with everyone. Because of how easily stressed he becomes here, though, we'd still recommend that he does not go to a home with any small children. Here's the deal with Cedar: he wants a little sugar before he's ready to be your sweetheart. Before touching him, messing with his food bowl, or playing with his toys, he'd like to get to know you. Which is fine. Because once he realizes you're his buddy, then there's no holding back. Cedar gives the world's best full body hugs. He tucks his head right onto your shoulder and will happily stay there forever. OK, yes, he makes it a little hard to work on the computer sometimes, as our newest office dog will paw at your hands to get you to move them away from the keyboard and onto his belly or ears for a scratch. He delights in physical contact -- after he's warmed up to you. Cedar is playful and energetic and would really benefit from an active guardian. We're looking for someone willing to continue the training he's started here (learning not to guard resources, learning to stay calm and to be less reactive in new situations) and to help him burn off some energy. Cedar is very responsive to his handler and is food-motivated. He needs a person to bond to, and he will be your loyal companion for life. We think he's a ladies' man. So, to all the single ladies out there: here's a gorgeous guy looking to sweep you off your feet. (Less)

Animal ID: HANKHANK (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

Hank is a Cowdog mix, around 2 years old and weighs 62lbs. He came to us as a stray from Buhl in December, that was never claimed by an owner. The end of January Hank was adopted by a sweet family but unfortunately returned to us the week after. It was clear that Hank didn't want to make friends with the cat in the home, he had other ideas. It is always a risk adopting to a home with kitties when we don't know the dog's prior history with cats or not able to tests dogs with cats since we are only a dog shelter. If it wasn't for Hank not liking cats, he wouldn't have been returned. He bonded very quickly with the wife, he decided that she was ... (Read More)his human. Hank wanted to go and be where ever she went. He was also wonderful with the kids of any age, his best friend was a toddler whom he played fetch with and let hand feed him out of his bowl. Hank is a gentle guy. Another thing we have learned about Hank he needs to be able to touch you during the night, just to see if you are still where you went to bed. So a home that is okay with sharing the bed at night or have a low enough bed where Hank can see you and make sure you didn't leave him! Hank will make a very lovable and loyal family dog! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-08-00489Mosby (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

SAY HELLO TO PUPPY MOSBY! Mosby is a 12 week old border collie mix puppy. Mosby is neutered, has had his first and second shots, been dewormed, and microchipped. Fenced yard with a 6 foot or taller fence (no underground fences) is a must and all other animals in the home must be fixed. There will be zero exceptions to these requirements for Mosby so please don't ask. Mosby is very energetic and would do best with another playful dog. No children under 10 as the higher energy of smaller children is not a good mix for Mosby. Socialization will be very important for him and a puppy kindergarten class would be a great place to start! Rescue Me ID: 16-04-17-00493Athena (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Athena is a energetic almost 2 yrs old, 45lb Aussie/ Border Collie mix who is great with kids, some dogs, cats. I currently have a English Mastiff who she gets along with well but since she would run under his legs to play, she got stepped on. Athena went through surgery on her ACL in December and is now fine. Athena then ate her collar so that was another surgery that she recovered fine from ( her new name should be Lucky). As my EM ages he is not enough stimulation ( she also keeps trying to herd him since he is so bit) for her or our yard even though it is a quarter acre. I would like her to go to a family with land or a home that has ... (Read More)older children that can walk her often so that she does not get bored and dig. I will come to you at your home if you are interested in meeting her so I know she is going to a good home. I have put over a $3000 into my pup between vaccinations, surgery, micro-chipping, etc so please only serious inquires from people who fit the criteria because loving her is not enough she needs the room and stimulation as well. Thank you :) Rehoming fee:$75 P.S. I have posted before but I was to emotionally tied to her to let her go despite the flood of requests to adopt her. I figured she would be fine when we bought some acreage but we are now moving to a house without acreage and my youngest just popped positive for allergies to dogs and cats so we need to decrease the amount of animals in our house. PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Idaho
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
