Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I will never understand how someone can have a wonderful pet and leave them behind when they move. For heck sakes, at least try to find your sweet pet a good home. :( Leaving them tied to their dog house while you drive away is absolutely disgusting. Luckily Manni had a neighbor watching over him who called us to help. We are very happy to have this little man as one of our gang. Believe me he loves us too. Manni is such a good boy. He has the cutest personality and is very well behaved. He loves attention and does everything he can to please. He is learning a few basic commands but seriously he just seems to know what he ... (Read More)needs to do before we even ask. He would be a fabulous pup for any active family. He loves to play ball and chase birds. He also really loves the pools. When it's time to come in he runs in to his kennel and sits patiently for his snack. :0 He does love snacks. Manni is great with other dogs and kids and would love to go home. He is neutered, up on vaccinations and micro chipped. He might need just a little work on potty training but he has mastered the doggie door. Manni is an 18 month old Border Collie Lab mix and super cute. Please call Lorrie 208 339 0130 or Dani 208 241 5538 or email kjfam@dcdi.net for an application. Manni wanted me to say, He's a good boy and didn't deserve to be left behind. He promises he would be loyal and loving forever. He wants to be his new families special boy. It's scary to be left behind and he's gonna forget all about that. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-19-00488Neo (male)

Border Collie    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I'm very sad I need to re-home my border collie, Neo. He is not getting along with our goats (and that's our business). Positives: He is very smart, 4 year old dog fully trained in obedience and some agility. He is an excellent runner and has gone as far as 18 miles with me. He runs off leash and responds to voice commands. He is up to date in all shots, neutered, house trained, micro chipped, and athletic. I just took him to Rattlesnake Avoidance Training and had the rattlesnake vaccine administered. Negatives: He is food possessive, and he is afraid of cars and small children if they run up to him. A good home for him would be one ... (Read More)where he is the only dog, no small children, and outdoorsy. $450 rehoming fee. I would be happy to know he's going to a good home. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-08-00211Clark (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

When you meet Clark, you need to do two things: (1) sit down, and (2) rub his belly. Then you're golden. Clark is a professional belly rub recipient. Few things in this world could make him any happier -- in fact, we haven't found anything yet. Clark is the sweetest, most endearing fella you've ever met, provided that you meet him outside of his kennel. In the kennel environment, Clark is a wild child. He just wants attention, so he is constantly barking and jumping and pacing. This 3-4 year old was recently transferred from a shelter in southern Utah, where he had waited for over 6 months (!) for a family. He became increasingly ... (Read More)kennel-stressed there, and we're hoping that the change in scenery will give him the home he's always wanted. Here's what we were told: 'He came from a home for barking because he lived his whole 4 years outside with no attention at all. The owner said he was good with kids, dogs, and cats. He was OK with dogs at first, and he had a female best friend who got adopted, but in the end he got where he was not good with dogs anymore. Once out of the kennel, he is a good boy and great on a leash. He is just craving affection and lonely. '| Clark can come off so obnoxious in his kennel because he is dying to be loved. The second you put a leash on him, he is a whole new dog. His fur was terrible from living outside his whole life, and I was trying to bathe him a lot and feed him coconut oil to get him soft. His paws were getting sore from being at the shelter for so long. He LOVES to go on long walks to the river or just anywhere, but we don't have the volunteers to take him every day or even every week sometimes. He is selective about his canine friends, but he'd be fantastic in the right home with older kids or no kids and maybe hikers or active young people.' Feel free to come meet Clark at the Rescue during our adoption hours. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-08-00489Mosby (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

SAY HELLO TO PUPPY MOSBY! Mosby is a 12 week old border collie mix puppy. Mosby is neutered, has had his first and second shots, been dewormed, and microchipped. Fenced yard with a 6 foot or taller fence (no underground fences) is a must and all other animals in the home must be fixed. There will be zero exceptions to these requirements for Mosby so please don't ask. Mosby is very energetic and would do best with another playful dog. No children under 10 as the higher energy of smaller children is not a good mix for Mosby. Socialization will be very important for him and a puppy kindergarten class would be a great place to start! Please ... (Read More)apply to adopt at www.saintrescue.org. Adoption fee is $350. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Idaho
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
