Rescue Me ID: 17-01-18-00460Thelma (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Thelma is the smallest of the two sisters that came in together. When they first came to ANH they were both so scared. Thelma would hide behind her sister and peak around to see what was going on. Now she's as busy and happy as could be. She is just adorable and has a spunky little personality. She can keep up with any of the big dogs at the shelter and usually gets to the ball first. Then away she goes full blast though the snow playing keep away. She loves to stomp on her tennis balls and bury them in the snow. Then she tunnels under to retrieve her prize and off she goes again. Thelma is just 8 months old and she is a very ... (Read More)good puppy. She minds great, sits for treats and even kennels when asked. She is spayed up on all her vaccinations, and micro chipped. Thelma would love an inside home, lots of kids to play with and a life time supply of tennis balls. :) Please call Lorrie 208 339 0130 or Dani 208 241 5538 or email kjfam@dcdi.net for an application. Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Louise is one of two sisters who came to the shelter together. They were found running along the highway. They were cold and scared are ready to be rescued. At first they were both very shy but it didn't take long at all to fit right in to the fun routine at ANH. Louise is 8 months old. She has been spayed, is up on vaccinations, and micro chipped. She loves to play ball and loves to play queen of the mountain. She always wants to be first to the top of our big snow piles. She does share her spot on top of the snow with her cute little sister Thelma. Louise minds very well. Takes treats very gently and even comes in when ... (Read More)she's not ready. She has a little sparkle of mischief in her pretty brown eyes and she does love to steal her sisters blankets. Louise would love to be someones little girl. She would like a nice place by the fire and a fun back yard to play in. She would be thrilled if that yard came with kids, she loves to play. :) Please call Lorrie 208 339 0130 or Dani 208 241 5538 or email kjfam@dcdi.net for an application. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-08-00140Bailey (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Puppy time! Little Miss Bailey joined us last week and went into foster. She is a 3 month old Lab/Border Collie mix who is now spayed, vaccinated, and vet checked. If you're interested in adopting Bailey, please call the Rescue at 208-794-0944 to schedule a meet-and-greet. Foster mom Sue says, 'Bailey is a really good girl. She loves to play with her toys and seems to always have one with her. Bailey is crate trained and sleeps all night. She is a very quiet girl'|I have only heard her bark a couple of times and only whines in her crate once in a great while. (Mostly when she doesn't want to go to bed yet) We are working on the potty ... (Read More)training'|.she is still having some accidents. Bailey loves taking a bath! She is very well behaved while you are bathing her and likes to snuggle wrapped up in a blanket when you are done. Bailey plays hard but she does settle down and just wants to hang out with you or sleep on the bed while I am reading or watching TV. Bailey is a real lover'|.she would let you sit and pet her all day if it were up to her. We are working on 'sit''|.she comes when you call her name, she understands 'no', 'off' and 'leave it''|typical things you say to a toddler, lol. Bailey does like to chew so I would be careful leaving shoes laying around. She also like to nibble on your hand/arm'|we are working on that'|Bailey is great with my 5 year old grandson'|.they play and play and play'|.Bailey does o.k. on a leash and will get better over time. She does get cold outside rather quickly so I would recommend a sweater when she goes out.' *Please contact the rescue for her adoption fee. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-12-27-00308  (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This is Buck! We are hoping this will be the last time good boy Buck comes back to us and if not we will continue to search for his forever home, we will not give up on the guy. Buck needs someone who is willing to give him endless amount of time to readjust and settle in to his new home. Buck was in 2 different homes(one in November and the other in December). Buck spent a 2 week period of time in both homes.%A0Usually about 2 weeks gives a dog enough time to settle in, unfortunately 2 weeks just isn't enough for Buck, he will need someone who is willing to give him as much time he needs to settle in. Maybe someone is willing to foster ... (Read More)that way he can be in a home and we can find out more about his characteristics when in a home setting?? If only dogs could talk, Buck could tell us the home that would best for him! Buck's biggest quirk is he still has the chewing habit of a pup when bored or left alone. Thanks to the second home for taking the time to%A0crate train Buck. He is not fond of it but will go in when told. We do know that is he much better with a K9 companion than without, he is more at ease and stays occupied by having a playmate. An outdoorsy active home would suit him the best. Buck loves to be outside and definitely has the energy to go walking, running, or hiking. Maybe even swimming! We estimated an age of 4 years for Buck, but with the energy he has got, good possibility he is younger. We also are thinking he is Labrador mixed with Border Collie. Both breeds alone are packed with energy. Buck weighs 60lbs.%A0He knows his basic commands. He is VERY smart. He has a 'Busy Ball' that we fill with treats and food to keep him occupied and he always has it empty between playtimes! Buck is a really sweet boy and is more than deserving of a home to call his own.(I think I have covered everything we know about Buck since he 1st came to HAAS in September)%A0Buck will be a resident here at HAAS until that perfect home comes along. We just hope that it is not a long wait for him! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-10-04-00477Chewy (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We are rehoming our black lab mix. His name is Chewy, he is 11 months old. He is fixed and up to date on his shots. He is crate trained and mostly house broken. He is great with other dogs. He is a little rambunctious but good with kids. He gets bored and barks when we are not home. We just received a noise complaint. We live next to a walking path so Chewy is constantly alerting us to 'intruders' which is fine when we are home because he can come in. Unfortunately I am in school during the day and leaving him in his crate all day is not an option. There is no rehoming fee. We just want to make sure he finds a good home.

Border Collie Mix    Age: Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed

This is my dad's dog Vita. She is a beagle/border collie mix. She is 8 years old. She is a great dog, really sweet. She would do best in a home with adults and older kids. She knows several commands and a few tricks. She would be best in a home as an only dog. Currently lives with an older female border collie. My dad can no longer take care of her due to his medical situation. Vita Needs a good home and I am prepared to pay a rehome fee for the right home. Please email me for more information. My dad has to find a home for her before September 1, 2016. Thank you! She knows commands.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Idaho
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
