Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hawk is the cutest little stinker you will ever meet. He is a fuzzy ball of adorable. He is so social and loves everyone. He wants to play with all the other dogs and he wants to be right in the middle of all the fun. At just 5 months old, hawk is still just a puppy but he is amazing. He sits for treats, kennels when told (even if he doesn't want too) and comes running when it's time for dinner. He is learning about toys and loves the squeaky ones. He would really love to go home. He always wants to bye bye and he cries when we leave. :( He needs to grow up in a home not the shelter. Hawk came to the shelter with his best buddy ... (Read More)Bloo and for now they are content. They both have dreams of an inside home where they are part of the family. They need a fenced yard and lots of lovin. Hawk is a Border Collie Aussie cross. He is neutered, up on all his vaccinations and micro chipped. Please call Lorrie 208 339 0130 or Stacy 208 705 3107 or email kjfam@dcdi.net for an application. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-28-00184Neo (male)

Border Collie    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Neo is a very smart, 4 year old dog fully trained in obedience and some agility. He is an excellent runner, very athletic and muscular. He runs off leash and responds to voice commands. He is up to date in all shots, neutered, house trained, and micro chipped..He has had Rattlesnake Avoidance Training and had the rattlesnake vaccine administered. Negatives: He doesn't like walking around cars and is afraid of small children. A good home for him would be one where he is the only dog, no small children, and outdoorsy. $250 rehoming fee. I would be happy to know he's going to a good home.

Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

'Colt' This guy is Colt! He is a Border Collie around a year old(45LBS) We looking for an experienced home for Colt that can help him work through lack of socialization and having some sort of trauma to his neck. Colt is a case that we desperately wish that animals could talk to us. So we could know why he has had such a rough start in life and how we can help him more. Colt was a local stray brought in to us by a citizen, whom it took them a week to catch the poor guy! When Colt first came in, he didn't know he could trust us and was so scared, that when we would talk to him, he would pee all over himself. He was also terrified of the ... (Read More)thought of you touching or rubbing his neck. The poor guy had to have had a trauma of sort, whether he was tied out for long period of time or was drugged by a vehicle he may have fallen out of. Unfortunately whatever the cause of the trauma is, it will always be a mystery. Here we are 2 months later after lots of treats, patience, and baby talk ;) We feel confident that Colt is ready to find his forever home. He is more social, especially if he has a K9 buddy around (they are like a safety blanket to him), no longer submissive urinating, and has made great steps in neck rubs and is learning the feel of a collar/leash/harness is an okay thing by taking slow and easy steps. He has met new people and is very timid at first but once he gets a sniff of you he becomes curious to smell more and see what you are all about. So here is what type of home we are looking for our man Colt.%A0 An experienced home who has history of working with 'special needs' doggies who are in need of extra love and patients to help him build the confidence Colt needs. A home with another dog that can give extra support to Colt, there's just somethings that dogs can do for each other that us humans cannot! Preferably a dog close to Colt's age that would love to romp and play with him. And of course a more quiet home, without children. We believe the high activity and noise of a home with kids would only add Stress to Colt and nobody wants that. We really want the best fit for Colt and so far we believe this kind of home would suite Colt best.%A0 If you think Colt would be a great addition to your home, please contact us to setup a meet and greet!%A0(10-17-17) Continue reading for a recent update on Colt! UPDATE 11-07-17 Colt is becoming more comfortable with his surroundings! He walks great with a harness, with no problems. He had his first meet and greet and did great! Although he was definitely more interested in the other dog and didn't care about meeting the new person (Unfortunately he had too much energy for the other dog) We are torn as to whether Colt needs a home with another dog or not. Maybe it would benefit more with him being the only furkid so he would have more one on one time? At this time we won't be requiring another dog in the home, until Colt has another meet and greet, but still an experience home is required(unfortunately that will never change). Adoption Fee of $94.20 includes routine procedure of: spaying/neutering 1st Parvo Combination, Rabies, Kennel Cough Vaccines, and worming. Additional fees may apply if dog requires additional medical care and treatment. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-09-30-00315Mouse (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Mouse or Miss Mouse is an Aust Cattle Dog/Border Collie Mix. She turned 6yrs old January 2017. She is good with other animals, cats, rabbits, pet birds, Poultry ..ect. Does Have very strong Herding/Stock Dog instinct, just not trained for herding. However, she does take her 'job' of being a Stock Dog Very Seriously, and Keeps track of my Ducks and Chickens. She LOVES to help open Barns in the mornings as well, as closing them at night. And does her best at helping by trying to 'Herd' on her own when we are trying catch birds. She does 'Chihuahua' bark when helping. The ONLY real Issues that Mouse has, is she suffers from Separation Anxiety ... (Read More)from me, and she suffers from Fear Anxiety W/O Aggression. Gun shots, Fireworks/crackers, Thunder, trash truck, nail guns, unknown sounds, strangers, Kids, strange dogs, Strange/unknown places, the Car..ect.. And IF You ARE NOT part of the Immediate Family. Again, SHE IS NOT Aggressive, just Fearful. Although She is submissive by nature, she will nip an unknown dog IF it is running from Her. But Will Not start a fight, unless she 'feels' is defending herself. Again, she IS Not aggressive, just very anxious. I have found some ways too help with her anxiety. But her New home MUST completely Understand Anxiety Disorders (As well as Cattle Dog personality) and can continue to work with her. I have owned Mouse since she was a pup, and she was NOT Left in the backyard to rot. She slowly developed the Anxiety issues over time, and I have spent a lot of Time and effort Working with her trying to help her over come them. Some stuff she has gotten better with, while Other stuff is still a huge Struggle. I am struggle with personal Issues and will be moving. Unfortunately, Taking her With me IS simply NOT an Option. She IS House trained, Is not destructive when left at home, Good w/or w/o a Kennel. LOVES! Frisbees!! but will retrieve a Ball as well. Sleeps on the bed w/me. Does NOT Like Water.. And Does Believe she is the Re-enforcer IF the cat is doing something wrong..or so she thinks. OH! and she does, I believe, Have Collapse Trachea do to a throat injury, so needs her food watered down and cant really ware a collar. BTW: Mouse is also living in a Rural area, and it should stay that way.. She IS Not a City Dog.. (Less)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Emma is the smallest of the two sisters that came in together. When they first came to ANH they were both so scared. Emma would hide behind her sister and peak around to see what was going on. Now she's as busy and happy as could be. She is just adorable and has a spunky little personality. She can keep up with any of the big dogs at the shelter and usually gets to the ball first. Then away she goes full blast though the snow playing keep away. She loves to stomp on her tennis balls and bury them in the snow. Then she tunnels under to retrieve her prize and off she goes again. Emma is just 16 months old and she is a very good ... (Read More)puppy. She minds great, sits for treats and even kennels when asked. She is spayed up on all her vaccinations, and micro chipped. PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Idaho
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
