Rescue Me ID: 15-03-26-00081Luna (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed

Luna is a lovely 3 year old Labrador & Border Collie blend. She is an owner surrender but came in with a minimum of information. She sits beautifully and is reported to know wait (stay) and come. Luna will walk with you on or off lead, makes wonderful eye contact & cues off her handler for direction. It's reported Luna isn't house trained but she is kennel trained so with some patience and scheduling, she should adapt easily to being inside a home. She's been around children of all ages and was good with handling and touch except for her rear quarters which appears to be tender so we're having her checked out by a vet prior to her adoption. ... (Read More)Luna has medium energy and doesn't seem to know about toys and balls, but she likes humans and attention. If you'd like to meet her, visit the rescue during business hours, 11 am - 4 pm daily. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-18-00441Tazz (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This cute little feller has the most adorable personality. He loves everyone he meets. He's super cute with kids and gets along with dogs and kitties. He is totally potty trained and has perfect house manners. His family had to move and he couldn't move with them. He was a pretty sad little guy at first. He doesn't cry and run to the gate anymore. Everyday gets a little easier for him. He is slowly settling in and becoming comfortable. I think he knows we are his new family, at least for now. Tazz is an 18 month old Border Collie/Lab He is neutered, up on all his vaccinations and he is micro chipped. He absolutely loves squeaky ... (Read More)toys and he is a champion ball player. He sure would like to be part of a happy family again. I bet he is wondering what happened and will he someday get to go home. For more info on Tazz call Lorrie 208 339 0130 or email kjfam@dcdi.net for an application. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-03-00174Hammer (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Vaccinations Current, Deaf

Hammer was born May 10th, 2014 and is a happy, healthy, (other than being deaf) little boy. We live and work our cattle ranch in the North Central part of Idaho and we use our cattle dogs to help us every day. Hammer was born 1 of 9 puppies out of two working dogs we own. We kept a male and a female to add to our band of working dogs. It wasn't until Hammer was around 4 months old that we realized he was deaf. He does really well with our other dogs as he watches them all the time and seems to follow what they do. But we fear that he will get kicked by a cow and most recently he has taken up chasing and barking at the horses. As you ... (Read More)can imagine, this could end up being tragic. We don't want to put him down as he is an wonderful dog and would make an awesome pet to someone with a loving home WITHOUT animals for him to instinctively harass. :) I can't find a shelter that can guarantee that he won't be put down if he isn't adopted in an allotted amount of time. Please help us find Hammer a good, loving home? Thank you and feel free to contact me with any questions. (Less)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Buddy is quite the boy. From the day he came to join the gang, he was a happy, fun loving, well adjusted kid. We can't figure out why someone wasn't looking for him. :( He minds so well, sits for treats, comes running when called and even kennels when asked. Even though it's way more fun to play. He loves his toys and chewies and his best friend in the whole world is Oakley. He loves other female dogs and is great with kids. He would make a wonderful hiking partner and a best friend for life. Buddy is about 3-4 years old. He has been neutered, vaccinated and he is micro chipped. He needs an inside home, a fence yard and hugs ... (Read More)every single day. PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Idaho
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
