Tessa Border Collie Mix? 5 1/2 months old 33 lbs Hi! My name is Tessa and I came all the way from Arkansas to meet you. Playing with other dogs is my favorite but I also love to cuddle. My foster family is amazed at the way I can contort my body to be close to them. I am a smallish to medium size pup with a heart of gold. I am potty trained and walk nicely on a leash. Although I would love for you to run with me so we can catch some birds. I am a super quick learner. I can sit and take my treats so nicely. I was worried about my food when I got here because I was so hungry. Although I still like to wolf it down, I am not concerned that the ... (Read More)other dog of the house will take it from me. When you leave me in the house while you are gone I am a very good girl. I am loving and fun - just the perfect mix! Rescue Me ID: 17-03-17-00275Sheena (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis, Blind, Malnourished

Sheena is a 15-year-old, very frail and thin, female black and white shepherd-mix looking for a loving guardian as a hospice situation. This senior lady was dropped off at Chicago Animal Control with a younger Dachshund sibling. They were separated when a rescue took the Dachshund but not the senior shepherd. Luckily Sheena was taken in by the Famous Fido Rescue. She has proven to be just fine with other dogs as well as cats. Poor Sheena has had two bouts of pancreatitis since she's arrived in rescue. Rescue staff and volunteers have nursed her back from each illness and now she eats mostly boiled chicken and rice, although she also loves ... (Read More)cheese. Her arthritis slows her down. She is visually impaired and easily startled so she may bite if surprised or frightened, so she's best in a home with tolerant dog-lovers without children. If you'd like to make a donation towards her care and the other special Famous Foster rescues, please click here: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?token=-x2Q2RPzX4vCwQdc9cSu7Vzf53GcLXZJKgskm4-iff6c8VF4_sSttP65ITmce2U0UFgPh0 If you are interested in fostering or adopting Sheena, please fill in the online application at http://famousfidorescue.com/rescueforms/machform/view.php?id=26727 and follow up by calling Gloria at 773-907-0305. Her adoption fee of $250 benefits the rescued pets of Famous Fido's. Sheena is at the Famous Fido Rescue, 3124 W. Irving Park Road at Troy Street in Chicago, Illinois 60618. Hours are by appointment only. Please e-mail Gloria at fido@famousfidorescue.com (Less)

Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
