Rescue Me ID: 17-02-20-00413Jill (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Jill is a Mexi-pup. She looks like a mini-lab with some white markings - she's a cutie, for sure. She is one of 12 pups looking for forever homes - and there are many more. She was born in the Yucatan - a small fishing village called Chelem. Jill is hoping to immigrate to the US, because there are just not enough loving homes, as compared to the dog population. Eye on the Sparrow (a no kill rescue dedicated to finding lifelong homes for dogs in need of a loving family) is collaborating with S.N.A.P. (a spay/neuter organization in the Yucatan responsible for spay/neuter & release to keep the dog population under control) to attempt to ... (Read More)make a small difference. The hope is to find an avenue to find homes for some of the animals rather than returning them to the streets. Jill is super sweet. She and her brother Jack were the smallest of the dogs rescued (only 750 grams when she was rescued) '| she is now about 7 kilos. We expect her to be a medium size dog (30 - 40 lbs.) '|but that is only a guess. Jill is currently spending her days taking walks along the beach, splashing in the pool and playing with her furry foster sisters. She loves to snuggle - so be prepared to give/receive a lot of snuggles and doggie kisses. She loves to play with her dog toys, in particular, she enjoys a game of tug a war with her toy rope. If you find it in your heart to add Jill to your family, she would be ever so grateful. She's currently in a foster home with her brother. We were lucky to find 2 volunteers to escort the puppies back to the United States. They will be traveling on February 28th, and they will be ready for adoption March 1st. Jill is spayed and has received all age appropriate shots (including rabies). Jack has already found a loving family waiting to take him home once he arrives '|now it's Jill's turn. Please contact his foster mom, Nicole (NZGonzalez1@gmail.com) for more information. We are asking for a $400 adoption donation to pay for transport, spay surgery, shots and the veterinary certificate needed to allow her to enter the US. If you are unable to take Jill into your home; however, would like to donate a few $s to help ensure she makes it to a loving home, please contact Kristine @ joysparrows@gmail.com or go to http://sparrowdogs.com and click on the 'donate' button on the bottom right (Less)

Rock is a playful, intense and intelligent, 11 or 12-year-old, male Border Collie looking for a loving guardian. Rock came into rescue with his ribs showing due to neglect. His front left leg bows but we don't know if he was born that way or whether it broke and healed like that on its own. In either case, it doesn't appear to bother him. Rock lives to be loved ad play ball. He's fine with other dogs, but has his limits '| he'll snap when he's had enough. His adoption fee of $250 benefits the rescued dogs of Famous Fido Rescue. Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

CHECK OUT THIS BEAUTIFUL GIRL!!! Sable is a very unusually colored dog. She is quite beautiful. The best way to describe her is a border collie with a sable shepherd coat. She showed up at a farm for a few months and once the horses were moved she started wandering so the farm owners sent her to the pound. Sweet Sable gets along well with other dogs and cats. She also reportedly gets along fine with children and horses. She is a very high energy dog and will need a large FENCED yard to run. We would love it if she also had a friend to play with in her new yard. We think she would be the perfect candidate for agility training! Although Sable ... Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Are you ready for a lifetime of fun and adventures with a devoted canine companion? Do you need a buddy with whom to watch sports on tv? Well, I would like to apply for the job. My name is Deacon, and I am a 1-year-old border collie mix; lucky for you, I am available for adoption through Fetching Tails Foundation! I am a pretty good looking dude if I say so myself. My coat is decorated with caramel and white swirls, and I have handsome hazel eyes. And I am about 40 pounds of lively love! My friends at Fetching Tails ... (Read More)Foundation saved me from Chicago Animal Care and Control. Ever since my foster mommy took me into her home, I have been having a total blast playing with her female pittie mix Rey (who is a Fetching Tails alumna! She tells me all the time in our doggie language that I will find a great forever home for myself just like she did!) We love to run around in the backyard together and play together inside, and play with our toys and chew bones together, basically playing together as much as possible. I love to play and be active, so I would love a forever family that likes to be active, too; I could be a great workout buddy if you need a friend on long walks. It would also be amazing to have another dog friend; I think a canine companion about my size and energy level would be a perfect fit! We can keep each other entertained and be best friends forever. And I am serious about watching sports on tv: it doesn't matter what sport, if there is a game on the telly I like to get right up in front of it and keep an eye on the ball. So when we are all done going on fun adventures and playing, I would be the happiest dog alive if we could watch a highlights reel or two on ESPN together. I have great house manners and I am learning even more all the time! I am potty trained, and I do fine resting in my crate while foster mommy goes to work. She says I am very good at letting my people know when I have to go outside and 'take care of business.' I know a few basic commands, including sit, stay, and give paw. I love to learn, and Fetching Tails Foundation likes to encourage all adopters to attend training courses with their new pups, so I think it would be a lot of fun if we could take a few classes together. I love to go on long walks, but I can get excited and pull a little strong, so maybe we could work on leash skills together in doggie school? More than anything, I would love a family that is up for fun and adventures like I am, and a family that will love me for life! If I sound like I could be the fun-loving, active, spunky (And did I mention cuddly and affectionate? Because I am definitely a cuddlebug, too!) sports-junkie for you, please get in touch with my foster mommy at Fetching Tails and tell her you are ready to watch the World Series with me! Love, Deacon If interested please fill out an application on our website at www.fetchingtailsfoundation.org or if any questions please email us! Adoption Requirements: *Be at least 21 years of age *Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household *Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease) *Have a valid ID with current address *Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Fetching Tails Foundation *Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment *Lives in 50 mile radius of Itasca within the Illinois border Adoption Fees: Senior dog - 8 years and up, $75 Adult or young dog - 6 months to 7 years, $250 Puppies - under 6 months, $350 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-07-20-00507Minnie (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

DOB 3/1/15 After seeing Minnie's shelter picture, we knew she needed out ASAP! She was so thin at only 25 lbs, and now after a lot of TLC from her foster, she is 40 lbs. Upon arriving on transport, she greeted everyone with tail wagging and kisses, she knew she was now safe. We think she might be Border Collie/Pit mix and about 1 yr old. After arriving at her foster home, she got to learn what being a puppy was all about, learning how to play and what a dog toy is. She has blossomed into a beautiful, happy, affectionate, active pup, who loves to go on walks. Minnie is not a fan of the crate, but doesn't need one since she does great ... (Read More)without one. Cuddling up with her foster family at bed time, is one of her favorite things. Since she was an outside dog, she had to learn about housebreaking. She enjoys, is playful with and friendly with other dogs. Now that she has been shown what life should be like, she is looking for her forever family to continue showing her what love is. If interested in meeting Minnie or for more information please go to www.alwaysroom4morepaws.com to read about our adoption process. Here you will also find the application to fill out and send back. *Breed and age are a guess. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-10-00594Susan Poochie (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This lovely gal is Susan Poochie, a striking, mixed breed dog suspected to be part bully breed and possibly Border Collie. Poochie weighs around 45 pounds and is approximately two years young. Poochie has excellent house manners; she is already housebroken and is has free roam of the house while her temporary foster is away from home. Susan Poochie is very loving, affectionate, and friendly with everyone she meets. She seeks attention from her people and enjoys playing with them whenever possible. Because Poochie is energetic, and needs a little work with jumping up on people when she meets them, she is probably not the best candidate for ... (Read More)a home with young children. Poochie seems to be best as an only dog. Poochie has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, inoculated against diseases, been tested for parasites, dewormed, and placed on monthly heartworm preventative. She will be spayed and microchipped the last week of May now that she is healthy. PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Illinois
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
