Rescue Me ID: 18-04-23-00290Bandit (male)

Border Collie    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Bandit is a fun, sweet, smart and friendly, five-year-old, 45-pound (chubby), male black and white Border Collie looking for a loving guardian. Bandit is great with other dogs and cats in the home. Outside on leash is an entirely different story. He's not much of a city dog because he's very reactive on leash, spinning, barking; he's not fun to walk. But, give him another dog and yard to enjoy and he's absolutely fabulous. Bandit doesn't need a crate; he's perfectly housebroken and non-destructive in the home. He's never been to a dog park or beach, but he's been fine at doggie daycare and playing with my own dog in my yard. Bandit ... (Read More)loves training, car rides, herding, playing and running. He knows the commands sit, down, paw, other paw and takes treats nicely. Bandit is looking for a family that lives in a home with a fenced-in yard to run and play in. He would also love someone who likes to work with their dogs with training and is home more often than not. Bandit is extremely healthy, neutered, up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly heartworm preventative. He's even had a dental. His adoption fee of $325 benefits the rescued dogs of Friends of Petraits. To meet and possibly adopt him please contact sheri@petraits.com for an adoption application. He is being fostered in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood. (Less)

Pal's Place rescue would love to introduce you to 3 of some of the cutest little puppies we've ever seen! These little guys are about 12 weeks old right now (4/20) and weigh about 10 pounds. They are tiny and oh so adorable! We aren't really sure what they are, Fern and Farrow have Border Collie type markings but are short and long much like a Corgi. Their brother, Finch is more proportionate and has longer legs They were rescued from an open-intake shelter in Kentucky. An overcrowded, stressful pound is no place for pups. We heard their story and brought these three sweethearts up to a wonderful foster home in Chicago to await meeting their ... (Read More)forever families. We are expecting them to be medium sized dogs when fully grown (35-50 pounds). They are all very sweet, curious, playful and affectionate pups. Farrow and her littermates energetic and intelligent puppies These guys true to their herding breed heritage, are not going to be happy cooped up in a kennel or alone for hours at a time, so homes were someone is home more often than not are going to be the best fit for one of these pups. They will not make ideal apartment or condo dogs either. They are vocal and need a home where they can run for 3-4 hours a day at least. They will be phenomenal companions for active homes! Farrow and her littermates have been spayed/neutered, microchipped and are up to date with vaccines for their age. Their adoption donation is $375 and it helps to offset their medical expenses while in our care. They are currently in a foster home in Chicago and can be seen by appointment once an application has been received and approved. 'ۢ Farrow's $375. This donation helps to cover their spays/neuters, initial vaccines, initial worming and microchip. Pal's Place relies solely on donations to care for the pets in our care. Your donation also helps save other animals like this little family from euthanasia. 'ۢ Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application and please put the name of the dog in the subject line. Please be sure to check your spam/junk folder; sometimes the applications end up in there! 'ۢ All of our dogs are in foster homes are can be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, after an approved application has been received. To receive more info please email palsplace1@hotmail.com. Email is the preferred method of contact and is the quickest way to receive a response. We cannot place holds on our dogs, please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt. (Less)

I am 40 lbs, great with other dogs & love people, including children! I am not good with cats. I love car rides. Note from Sarah's foster mom: Sarah is a wonderful dog with a happy go lucky personality. She loves to run and herd as she is a breed that likes to round up others. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs too but does like to hunt so she'd be best in a home where there are no small animals. She loves people and warms up to strangers with a proper introduction. She loves going places too but has a little bit of anxiety in the car unless the windows are down. She's a wonderful snuggler and follows instruction well and is ... (Read More)crate trained. If your looking for a playful, loving dog and a running buddy she's the dog you want by your side! Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Meet Disney (aka Dizzy)! Dizzy is about 1-2 yrs old and weighs about 35 lbs. Dizzy came to us from Animal Rescue Corps Operation Mayday 2. He was rescued from a situation where he was living outside on a chain. This poor boy has had a rough start in life and now he is looking for a new beginning. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, but he is incredibly timid and nervous. He loves other dogs of all sizes and we will require he be placed with another confident, well adjusted dog that can help show Dizzy the ropes. His new family will need to be patient and work on building his confidence. He has been doing well with his housetraining, but ... (Read More)occasionally displays some submissive peeing that is getting better as he becomes more confident and comfortable. We think Dizzy would do best in a home without young children. We will require adopters to attend A Sound Beginning Program classes with him. Dizzy's adoption donation of $250 helps cover the cost of his vetting. Application, reference checks, and home visit required. Adopters must live 1.5 hours driving distance from Romeoville, IL. For more information on adopting, please email us at info@perfectpooches.org. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website at www.perfectpooches.org under the Adoption Process tab. PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Illinois
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
