|Rescue Me ID: 14-10-21-00004Knight (male)|
Knight is approx. 3 yrs. old. He has shown no aggression towards the other dogs and cats at the pound. He is VERY adult people friendly. We do not know his compatibility with children but we think by what we have seen of his behavior that he would be ok with children. He is at our county's animal control facility. Adoption fee is $30.00 which includes a micro-chip. He is required to be neutered before leaving the animal control facility. Application process for individuals other than licensed rescue groups.

|Animal ID: 2812Rain (female)|
Rain is an intelligent, working type girl who will bond with her owner and do all she can to please you. She is alpha and needs an owner who has experience with the herding, working breed. Woof Beach Batavia has assessed and trained her, and she has really bloomed into a wonderful girl! She came to HELP from an owner who couldn't keep her and Rain was very under socialized. She now is doing great at her foster home with multiple dogs, and cats too. She would be happier without cats, she is too interested in them. Rain is housetrained, walks politely on leash, and will listen to her commands. She stays off the furniture, is kennel trained but rarely in one, and does not jump on people unless she is invited. A fenced yard is best, plus someone that is active or does agility to keep her mind and body working. Rain weighs 66.5#'s, plus is now 4 years, born April 1, 2010 . I know, what a birthday! Rain does have the herding instinct, so children 12 and over that are capable of understanding her would be great! She can handle a work day home as long as it is playtime when you arrive afterwards. She loves walks, outdoor time, petting and affection. Rain has awesome indoor manners, stays off the furniture, and respects her persons belongings. She will fetch a ball and love to be with you getting your attention and love! If you are willing to follow through on her training, keep her busy and understand her breeds, Rain may be the girl for you! (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 14-09-27-00641Roscoe (male)|
Roscoe is a happy, good-natured and playful, two to three-year old, 83-pound, black labrador retriever / border collie-mix looking for a loving guardian. Roscoe had a rough start in life; he was found tossed in a dumpster. Sadly, his rescuer is ill so Roscoe needs a new loving home. He is living in a foster home where he has proven to be fully house-trained and crate-trained. He gets along with other dogs and is actually a little afraid of cats. Roscoe loves walks and would make a great walking and running partner. Due to his energetic nature, he does best with children 12 years and older. Roscoe loves toys and rides in the car. He also adores romping in a fenced-in yard. He loves people, is full of kisses and snuggles for people. Roscoe knows the commands sit, come, wait, down and paw; he also takes treats gently and appreciatively. To meet and possibly adopt Roscoe, please contact Joan at Joan@Underdog-Rescue.com or 847-529-5959. He is very healthy, neutered, de-wormed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on preventative. Roscoe's adoption fee of $300 benefits the rescued dogs of Underdog Rescue. |Rescue Me ID: 14-09-23-00851Orianna (female)|
DOB 6/20/2014 Hi, I'm Orianna! My siblings and I were born June 20th 2014. Though I was first born, my foster mom says I'm the runt of the litter since I'm the smallest...You'd never guess though cause I run with the big dogs! My mom was rescued from a shelter in Tennessee before she had us and we've been here ever since. Standard adoption fee is $295 and includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, up-to-date on shots, fecal, deworming, frontline, 1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, micro-chipping and 30 days of shelter care insurance. Puppies require a home where there will be someone available to care for and train them during the day. If your family is away from the home for several hours at a time, please consider adopting a 'teen' or adult dog. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email Kathy for an application at firstname.lastname@example.org. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 14-08-31-00529Hobbes (male)|
Hobbes is an extremely sweet, high-energy, cuddly and loving, 29-pound, 18-month-old, male Rat Terrier/Border Collie-Mix looking for a loving guardian. When you first meet adorable little Hobbes, you hear a growl and you take a step back. He does the same thing to dogs when he first meets them. The funny thing is, he really loves everyone. He is full of kisses and tail wags for everyone. Sadly, he was found stray in the Englewood neighborhood where children were beating him with sticks. Police officers intervened and brought the dog to Chicago Animal Care and Control. When his original family neglected to claim him, he was transferred to Rain Dog Rescue. Despite this horrible start in life, Hobbes is a social creature and loves playing with other dogs and getting human affection. Hobbes is looking for a loving and active dog-loving home with a canine sibling to play with. Hobbes does well at the dog park - enjoying not only all the dogs, but people too! Hobbes loves going on long walks and is currently working with a trainer to become less reactive on leash. He is housebroken, crate-trained and knows the commands sit, stay and down and takes treats gently from your fingers. Hobbes is very healthy, de-wormed, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly heartworm preventative. His adoption fee of $200 benefits Raindog Rescue. To meet and possibly adopt Hobbes, please fill out an adoption application at http://raindogrescue.org/application and follow up by contacting Raindog Rescue at email@example.com or 773-770-5115. |Rescue Me ID: 14-08-11-00578Buddy (male)|
Buddy was rescued with his mother and 3 siblings. Mom appears to be Shepherd collie. there was a purebred looking male shepherd on the property we were told was the father. Rocky looks like a longer coated shepherd collie mix and is black and tan. He is very sweet, and very shy with strangers. They came from a terrible situation. All 5 dogs rescued from the location are terrified of children and run and hide. He is very submissive with teens and adults. He loves attention but is still learning people won't hurt him at random. He has learned to walk on a leash fairly well, is crate trained. About 8 to 10 months old, UTD vaccination, neutered and on heartworm preventative. Mom is very submissive and super sweet, will also be available when spayed! microchipped and UTD vaccinations. He is great with a wide range of dogs and has no interest in cats. A current or past vet you have used for pets number is required for us to call for a reference prior to adoption. We have many other rescued dogs available also to choose from. Contract on adoption. Brighton IL. Transport option may be available. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 14-04-04-00549Honey (female)|
Honey is a very beautiful, sweet, energetic and fun six-year-old, 30-pound, female, blonde and white Border Collie-mix looking for a loving guardian. Honey is a friendly, wiggly, goofy puppy who is full of tail wags and kisses. She loves to play with other dogs and she's even good with the dog-friendly cats in her foster home. She does like to do a little herding of people, dogs and cats, in a fun way! And, she jumps up on people, so she needs some training and is probably best without young children in the home. Honey already knows how to sit on command and is doing great with her housebreaking and crate-training. She's is currently overcoming her fear of eliminating in front of people, so she's not accustomed to urinating on leash yet. Honey is healthy, spayed, micro-chipped and vaccinated for rabies, distemper and bordetella. To meet and possibly adopt her, please contact Ursula at Ursulaspets2u@aol.com or 312-315-9748. Her adoption fee of $250 benefits rescued pets. She is currently living in a foster home in Chicago. She is looking for a home with a fenced in yard with a secure six-foot high fence to keep her safe. (Less)

|PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Illinois|
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
