Bandit is a 2 yr old border collie. This boy wants to WORK. He must have a family that knows how to handle the herding breed, and he must have a job to do or he will happily give himself one (and there is a good chance you wont approve of his choice) He is good with most dogs with proper introduction and cats. If you and looking for a working border this very well could be your boy!! Hes super super smart and wants to learn, he bonds quickly to anyone that will work with him. He is NOT your huggy squeezey type, he likes attention and affection but he will reprimand anyone that disrespects his space (we believe he was over corrected with a ... PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Iowa
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Iowa if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
