Max is an absolutely stunning male, 1-2 yr old, Border Collie/Sheltie mix. He was found coated in oil, abandoned. After three baths, and some TLC he is ready to find his forever home. He is a herding breed so of course has some energy. He does get nervous, but who can blame him with what he has been through. He would make an awesome companion for a family or someone on a farm. We do not want him running loose as a farm dog though. He needs to be a member of a family, inside/outside dog, with a fenced yard. He is house trained and crate trained. If you are interested in Max email handsofhopegb@cox.net or to apply to adopt visit our website ... (Read More)for an online application at www.handsofhoperescue.com. (Less)

Border Collie    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Cali is a pretty sweet and loving dog. She has spent her life in an outdoor 4x6 fenced area with lack of attention and food. We have had Cali for about 5 days now and she is picking up weight, and doing pretty darn good on 'housebreaking'. She loves attention and listens pretty good. She has gone from outdoors her entire life to living inside for the time being. Cali is somewhat food aggressive and would be best in a home as an only pet until she finds her place and is comfortable with the changes and training that she still needs. Cali does well on the leash and will let you know if she needs to go out and potty. She is a little ... (Read More)timid but very smart. Cali needs a warm loving person or family to adopt her. She recently received her rabies and DHLPP (12-20-15) and well be spayed on 12-22-15. email ckedberg at yahoo.com or call/text 620 five one seven-030 one Serious inquiries and serious commitment required. PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Kansas
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Kansas if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
