Rescue Me ID: 13-05-28-00181White Sox (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

White Sox is a male lab/Border Collie born about 1/2012. He is neutered and up to date on shots. Sox gets along great with other dogs, but has never been around cats so we don't know how he would do with them. He is a bit timid around young children so he needs a home without young kids. Sox was born into a home where an elderly lady didn't get any of her dogs fixed and she ended up with a lot of dogs. We are now looking for a home for Sox where he can get a lot of love and attention which he craves.

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Curly is a male Rottweiler/Border Collie who was born about 1/2010. He is up to date on shots and neutered; he is a big boy at about 70lbs. Curly's owner is no longer to keep him so he is now looking for a new home that knows what forever really means. Curly does great with other dogs and would probably do great with kids as he's a gentle soul. We have never seen him with cats so don't know how he'd do with them. Can you show Curly that people do know the meaning of furever?

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Buddy is a lab/border collie mix who was born about 1/2011. He is up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and neutered. Buddy gets along well with other dogs and just loves people. Buddy is a great guy and seeks to please his people. He loves to play, but also loves to cuddle. Buddy's foster dad says he's the type of dog that everyone should own at least once in their life, because he's such a great guy. Buddy was originally found as a stray with his two sisters. The people who found the pups found homes for the girls, but couldn't find a home for Buddy so he made it into rescue to search for his forever home.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Louisiana
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Louisiana if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
