Rescue Me ID: 18-03-08-00372Azazel (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Azazel is a well bred herding dog, border collie, catahoula mix, that is excellent with our goats and friendly with everyone including cats. She honestly doesn't have any problems. Sometimes she doesn't get along with other dogs, but she is never aggressive with them. She is turning two this year and is incredibly healthy and up to date on her shots as well as being spayed. She has an amazing recall, knows all basic commands and can scent as well as knowing some basic service tasks. We are worried that we don't have the space to allow her to run and get the exercise she needs, which is exactly what we don't have the capability to do. I'm ... Rescue Me ID: 18-02-02-00453Zeno (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Zeno is a sweet boy who is happy with whatever is going on, so long as there is someone with him. He enjoys running around, but is also perfectly content with sleeping, if I'm just hanging around the house. He does have pretty severe separation anxiety, and will chew things if left by himself. He loves other dogs, and would do very well in a house with others. He is mostly okay with cats, but is inclined to chase them if they get too close. He also likes to bark at livestock, although he's never hurt anything. He is very shy around people at first, and children make him extremely nervous, particularly if they're younger than four or five. ... (Read More)He's fairly intelligent and trainable, and would likely do well as a working dog, but he does need someone who can be around most of the time. He is four years old, and is up to date on vaccinations for rabies and DA2PP. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Montana
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Montana if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
