Rescue Me ID: 14-12-31-00257Kiko (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Cancer,
 Abused/Neglected

[Read About Natural Cancer Care] Kiko was rescued from a home where she was chained up outside all day, every day, with little to no attention. Her owners didn't believe in vets, and therefore never spayed her. Because of that, she has developed breast cancer. I have taken her to the vet, caught her up on vaccinations, and had most of the cancer and her ovaries taken out. They could not get all of the cancer as it was too deep in the tissue. Despite Kiko's lonely start at life and her cancer, she is a very energetic, happy, and loving dog. She is clearly happy to be in a better place. She loves to run and would fair better in a home that has ... (Read More)lots of room to roam. She can easily jump fences that are 4' high (not sure what her limit is), so unless your fence is higher, she will probably get out of the yard. I don't want to send her to a home where she will just be chained up again. She recently has found the joy of playing with toys, she is house broken, knows some basic commands, consistently comes when called, makes a great running partner, and loves to snuggle. (Less)

Turns out that is a big dog no no the term for it is puppy litter syndrome witch means basically never get 2 puppy's from the same litter. The male is being dominant and it's just note fare to her she get's along with my 4 year old dog very well just the puppy's seam to but heads so i am looking for a new permanent home they are trained ... (Read More)to sit stay and lay down very energetic and has blue eyes will post pics or if you txt me i can send pictures via txt price is obo but want to make sure they gets a great home call or txt me with any questions the female does have a eye thing vet explained it like this in plain term the eye socket is bigger than her eye but she plays fetch and brings the ball back every time. The male is def i believe that could be apart of the puppy litter syndrome according to what i have read about it. both dog are really high energy and very strong for there size they are not what i would consider a big dog. they both love the snow now the male is also very smart he has solved every dog brain teaser i have tested him with and in record time. he is the smartest dog i have every had and is def an escape artist but once he gets out f his kennel he just stays in the yard. 406-853-8033 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-11-02-00453Singer (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

SINGER is a 'Hanging Tree' cattle/sheep dog (part Bull Terrier, part Red Heeler). He's 11 months old, weighs 36 pounds and has a docked tail and a beautiful, shiny short-haired brindle coat (i.e. has to be able to come indoors during very cold weather). Athletic, very smart and obedient and very friendly. He and his buddy, AJ, were picked up in East Glacier last fall after roaming town for a week or so, begging for food and obviously homeless. AJ has been adopted (yay!), but Singer is still looking for his forever home. (He was adopted briefly but the owner's other dogs wouldn't accept him into the home, so he's back with his foster mama) ... (Read More)We're guessing he was meant to be a working cattle dog because of his docked tail. 11/14/14 UPDATE: This little fellow has been at this foster mom's house for a month now. He has been neutered and is putting on much-needed weight. He is improving greatly in trusting humans and obedience training. Housebroken, Singer sleeps 8-10 hours inside with no accidents. He shares his days with 4-10 different dogs and gets along beautifully with all breeds, especially older females. He is gentle and friendly around children and stays close off-leash in all situations. IMPORTANT: Because of the Bull Terrier in him, he has extra-big jaw muscles which need lots of working out i.e. CHEWING!! He will need lots of sticks, rope bones, etc. to be able to satisfy this natural urge. Singer would do well in an active home or as a hunting or working dog; he would be bored and under-challenged otherwise. $50 re-homing fee required and you must be able to come pick him up in East Glacier. Animal ID: 14-4605Mauser (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

I wish dogs could tell us about their past, Mauser would have a lot to say... He is hesitant at first but he wants to please. He is active, playful, and has been around kids but because of his anti-social past may be best at first introducing to a family with no kids or prefer older children. Mauser spent most of his days in a kennel but really needs a joyful family who wants to help socialize him! But he is a puppy and would be very easy to train :)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Montana
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Montana if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
