Franklin is an 8.5-year-old Neutered Australian Shepperd/Border Collie mix. He is a medium-sized dog at 26 lbs and is looking for a loving new home. He has been with our family since he was a puppy and followed us through our marriage and the arrival of our two children. Franklin is a loyal and obedient companion. However, he does not like the energy of our kids. We had an early incident of him nipping at our oldest when she was 2. Since then we've done extensive training and have had no issues for over a year now. Recently, he has nipped her for the second time, and we believe the changes made to our family have been stressful for ... (Read More)him. We also suspect that his lineage of a herding breed may have contributed to these incidents. He loves to be outside and running around in a yard or open space. He does like to bark, but only during play and when someone is approaching the house. Franklin gets along great with cats and will often play with our house cat. He does ok with other dogs but will need to introduce for compatibility. We think he would do best in a home with no young children and a yard to play in. (Less)

Are you looking for a laid back, go with the flow kind of dog? Let me introduce you to Wendell. Wendell is a 2 year old Border Collie Mix. He is incredibly sweet and as laid back as they come. He loves other dogs and absolutely adores human attention. He is a low maintenance dog and is just happy to be along for the ride in this crazy thing called life. Wendell is currently undergoing slow kill heartwormtreatment. Wendell is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and ready to curl up in that empty spot on your couch! He actually was adopted for 8 months with a family who then decided to kick him to the curb. They dropped him off at a shelter ... (Read More)who immediately contacted us. When we picked him up it was obvious he was filthy and had lived a while outside, he was also OBESE. Our fun peppy lil pup was just sad. He is now in an awesome foster and learning to be happy and trust again. He does well with dogs, cats, small animals, he is crate trained and house trained, he also knows basic commands. This lil man is the total package, an absolute GEM. Whoever adopts him will need to continue with his slow kill treatment as well as continue helping him to reach his healthy weight goals!%A0%A0Apply today to adopt this sweet boy! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Nebraska
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Nebraska if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
