Rescue Me ID: 16-06-26-00141Lady (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lady is a 9 week old border collie husky mix. Sire was a purebred border collie and dame was a purebred husky. Lady is smaller than the other puppies and has the short hair coat rather than the longer hair the other puppies had. We got her from Chico, CA one week ago and since have discovered that we do not know enough about puppies/dogs to get one at this point in our life. Our time commitments do not allow enough time for training. We have been using the Monks of New Skete method and have seen dramatic improvement. She was potty pad trained at her original owners and our vet said that is what taught her to potty in the house. Now she ... (Read More)potties out side on command but still needs to be watched or crated. She whines in the crate for a few minutes then settles down. Her personality is very sweet and cuddly, not aggressive or dominant. She gets on with our kids and cat well. We are asking a re-homing fee, which will include crate, puppy food, food bin and toys. She has had her first 2 sets of shots and is coming due for her next set. We really love her and need to make sure she goes to the right home for her type of dog. Please don't be offended if we ask lots of questions to make sure Lady gets the right home. You may call, text or email with further questions. Christyann (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Nevada
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Nevada if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
