Meet Goose, a handsome 11 month old Border Collie mix. This good looking kid weighs about 35 pounds and is looking for an active home. Goose is a smartie! He knows a lot and loves to learn. Goose knows sit, down, come, back up, stay (still needs a little work), go to kennel, leave it (for food), wait (to come out of kennel even if I go out of sight for a while). He will excel with someone who keeps up his training and gives him more to do. Goose is polite. He is house and crate trained. He pulls a bit on leash but accepts a correction. He rides nicely in the car in a crate and would probably be fine without it. Goose is nice with people, other dogs, and even cats. Goose lives to play, so any playmate dogs would also need to like to play. For a low key dog, Goose's fun-loving personality may be a bit much. He gets excited when people come to visit and jumps ups lot. His foster mom is working on that, so a home with small kids isn't a fit for him. Goose is discovering how fun it can be to fetch. He isn't a fetching maniac but likes to play. He also likes to keep the ball and chew on it. Just like any herder this age, he is still interested in chewing and appreciates being given appropriate chew toys (rather than shoes and such). Goose is also quite the ham! He likes to play the 'hands game' where, if you pat your hand next to him, he'll put his 'hand' on top of yours. He rolls also himself up like a burrito in a sheet or lightweight blanket, all by himself. He watches TV, too. He is generally fun to be around with all of his antics. Goose is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. He is ready for a home that can keep his mind and body busy. A home visit and vet reference are required. (Less)

Molly and her sister Bella must be kept together. They have been together since birth. They are fabulous dogs, but need to be outside and able to run. We have a very small yard and we both work full time, not compatible for these herding dogs. It will be very painful to give them up, but we know this is what they need.

Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Nevada if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
