Rescue Me ID: 17-01-22-00289Harley (female)
Next time you see her, Harley will be accepting the gold medal in agility at the summer Olympics! Harley is incredibly fast and limber, and has been showing us just how good she is at many basic agility skills. Coupled with her gorgeous looks, Harley is quite the addition for a family looking for an active dog. We originally met Harley back in Ohio, where we then pulled her into our shelter from a shelter up there. She was quickly adopted from our shelter, but due to extenuating circumstances she was returned to us a few months ago. Being in a kennel environment is unnatural for any dog, but especially for one that had been adopted out so recently. Harley also prefers to not be around other dogs (0r cats!) so the kennel is particularly stressful for her. Since her return, we have been trying to enrich her day-to-day by incorporating some agility training and she is excelling at it. Harley is incredibly playful and friendly, so the more chances she gets to strut her stuff, the better! Harley is looking to loop her way into your heart-please fill out an online application below if you are interested in adopting! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-22-00085Jack (male)
Say hi to Jack! We have quite a few wigglers here at Adopt-A-Dog, but none quite as cute as Jack! He greets each new day with a full body wiggle and shakes. Jack moves his feet so fast it looks like he's doing a 2-step in his crate! He would love to go to an active home with a family that enjoys being outside as much as he does. Jack was part of the infamous 'Cow Chase' group from West Virginia that recently arrived at our shelter. We are not sure of his origins before West Virginia, but what we have seen is that he is an energetic and affectionate dog. All that energy is why we think he would be best in a home with older teens, who can keep up with his stamina and take him out for walks, runs and hikes. While he is quite the lively boy, Jack also enjoys being pet and sitting at your feet. He is an all-around great dog, who just needs a forever home he can wiggle in! If you are interested in adopting Jack or any of our other available dogs, please click on the following link for our online application: https://goo.gl/Y9m7H5 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-08-00429Lexie (female)
Lexie is a larger lab/border collie. She is about 65-70 pounds. She is great with the kids and adults in the home, but is showing dominance over our other older female dog. She plays great with the neighbors 10 pound pug. She needs a home that is willing and able to take her out frequently for exercise. She is mostly potyy trained and is crate trained. She is spayed and up to date on her shots.

Hi! I have a beautiful black 8 months border collie/lab shepherd mix that needs a better home than we can provide. I could of had uploaded pics but somehow it won't work on my phone. She is pure black. We have a small yorkie that she doesn't get along with. So a home without small dogs would be the best for her. We have 2 cats, they do fine with her. She's definitely still in the puppy faze although she is 8 months. She's a rough walker, pulls a lot on the leash. She likes to take walks, and she like runs. So it would be good excerise for you! She will come with free jar of food and her leash. She's a beautiful dog that needs more training and time than we can give her. I'm heartbroken to see her being given away but it's for the best. We cannot afford her. Rehoming fee is $60 to ensure she gets to a good loving family! I'm sure she will be a wonderful addition! You have to pick her up in buffalo, ny which is only one hour away or we can meet up halfway! (Less)

ZERO IS A COURTESY POST WITH ONE OF OUR SISTER RESCUES This is Zero. This little hunk has missed out on the life he deserves thus far, but all that has now changed. He still bears some residuals from his previously life, as he had severe flea dermatitis and you see where his hair along his back is still growing back in, but he's a happy and lovable boy and so adorable that you smile every time you see him. Even this video doesn't look like him to me, he's that much cuter in person. He's good with other dogs and loves people. He's only about 35lbs and just sheer perfection. He is good with other dogs and cats and loves to play catch. He is crate trained, neutered, and UTD on vaccines. He is currently being fostered in Middletown, NY. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in New York
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in New York if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
