Animal ID: 14D227Marley Reed (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Marley was born about March 25, 2013 and weighs about 40 lbs. Just look at her crazy fur!!! It matches her silly personality. She was left at the pound because they had too many dogs, not sure what that means, but I'm wondering if Marley was chosen because she was so adorable that she'd find a home easier than some of the others. She was truly loves, two pages of notes come with her from the former owner. She is house broken, good on leash, loves kids of all ages and is wonderful with dogs! She is a major snuggler and loves to curl up with you, don't tell her she's a little big for a lap dog, she doesn't care. She loves to play, but ... (Read More)is not hyper and she loves to swim and play in the snow, just wait until she sees a northern snowfall!!! There is one thing you need to know, she will dig out of a fence if she sees small critters on the other side, so you'll want to be sure your fence is secure on the bottom. Marley promises to be a special addition to your home! The 'Reed' group of dogs came from a high kill pound in TN. Since we've been going to this shelter, for the last several months, they have not had to kill for space or time served. It had been five weeks since we were there and they begged us to come back as they were down to the wire and needed us desperately. So, once again, our Facebook fans came to the rescue and donated close to the amount that we needed to be able to make the journey. Thank you all SO much and thanks to Katie who makes this 26 hour round trip in about 36 hours - good thing she's young!!!! (Less)

Animal ID: 14D125Kelsey Bradley (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Kelsey was born about April 21, 2006 and weighs about 35 lbs. He is wonderful with other dogs, is fine on leash, and is on the quiet side. He is very friendly, loving, and has a nice medium energy, just a nice guy. We have also found out that he is fine with cats and wonderful with children! A Note From His Foster Mom: Kelsey is a dream dog. It is as if he lived with us all his life. He has awesome doggy manners. he does not jump up on furniture or people. we have tried to get him to sit on the couch with us and he is content to sit at our feet. He is a shy eater so i separate him for my dogs while eating.(he won't eat if my dogs ... (Read More)are looking at him or are in the same room) He is very gentle taking treats. He knows a few commands such as sit, wait, come and stay. He really enjoys his treats and likes to do our training sessions. He enjoys his walks and is great on the leash. We have him on a led outside and he likes to chase after squirrels. Kelsey perks up when he sees kids and is great with letting them pet him. He likes other dogs that he has met. He is very laid back and is happy just hanging out with his dog friends and people. We have not heard him bark yet. He has been sleeping in my daughter bedroom. He sleeps all night and we wake him up around 7am to get him outside to potty and eat breakfast. he has not had any accidents in the house. He is hesitate to go up stairs and will not go up stairs on his own. I find that he will do anything I ask when the leash is on. Kelsey is a super great dog and pleasure. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-31-00478Sally (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sally is a big fluffy bundle of affection. Like a large teddy bear this happy go lucky girl just loves to be cuddled, and tickled and hugged and generally made a fussed of. She walks well on her leash and enjoys the company of other dogs. She has had a number of kennel mates over the time and has gotten along fabulously with each and every one. She truly is an awesome girl with a huge passion for life and desire to love and be loved. In fact on a wet weekend we also found that Sally loves cool rainy days, bouncing, skipping and splashing about like a pup in the rain. A joy to see rewarded with the biggest grin and a tail that would not stop ... (Read More)wagging. Rescue Me ID: 14-08-29-00251Dylan (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Dylan is an energetic, friendly Border Collie. They said Lab Spaniel when I adopted him, but as he's aged both in appearance and behavior, it is clear he is at ,east predominantly a Border Collie with perhaps some other blood in him. I have to move and even if I were to decide to take him with me, I live in a city and this dog needs more space and more attention than I can give him. He does have a problem with separation anxiety. He has proven too much dog for me from the start. I was inexperienced when I adopted him. Dylan needs a home that can give him the out let for his energy. If you have property and maybe even another dog , that might ... (Read More)be helpful. Expericne with separation anxiety is also helpful. He is a wonderfully loyal animal, but he will try to push your buttons. He has had some obedience training and responded well to it. I'd recommend more. He might really love agility training. It breaks my heart to let him go, but I'm looking to do the best for both of us and I think that this is the right thing to do. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-04-23-00232Isabelle Isabella (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Isabelle was street dog in Arecibo Puerto Rico when she was picked for TNR a few months ago. She was spayed and vaccinated and released back to the same area where some very kind people were feeding and looking out for her. Pets Alive in Puerto Rico got the word that the area was no longer a safe place for Isabelle so they took her into their rescue program. Isabelle made her journey to Pets Alive in Middletown in search of a loving family of her very own. ***To fill out an adoption application for this dog, please go to the following website: http://www.petsalive.com/adoptadog.html .
