Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

** EXPERIENCED ADOPTERS ONLY ** 'BONITA' is an adorable 7 to 8 month old, 40 lb Border Collie female pup we rescued from a very high kill shelter, where she had been surrendered with her Mom, Dad and brother. Bonita is demure, and wins you over with her exceptional sweetness. Per her foster parents: 'Bonita is a busy dog, loves the dog park, loves mouth jousting and playing with other dogs. (We also call her 'Bonnie' & 'Bon-Bon). She is good around other people and kids and even cats. She is not aggressive towards anything. She is still a puppy and hasn't learned all her boundaries yet. She's good in a crate but initially may have some ... (Read More)separation anxiety. 'Bon Bon' loves being outside. She is good on a leash and behaves well in public places. Would be good in a home with other women in a high energy environment.' Bonita is spayed, fully vaccinated, de-wormed, on monthly heart-worm preventative, house-trained and crate trained. All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., pro-biotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition. PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Ohio
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Ohio if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
