Rescue Me ID: 17-11-18-00055GEORGE (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

This handsome border collie mix is about 1-2 years old. He is not yet housetrained and that was the reason given for his surrender; however, we think it may be more the case that it is submissive urination because he does this when brought out of his kennel and all the other dogs are barking. George needs someone who knows how to bring a fearful/anxious dog around. He has so much love to give to a person who is patient and kind and will train him. We are a small shelter located in rural PA; closest city is Pittsburgh. Please Map It before you contact us. We require a meet and greet with any other dogs in the home, check references, and need ... (Read More)to meet the prospective adopters; therefore, we do not transport dogs. (Less)

Animal ID: 1436Autumn (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Autumn, is our 'Kentucky Girl,' She has been with us since the Summer, and is now looking for a furever family. She is smart, active, playful, curious. She needs a fenced yard to exercise and chase away all your critters. She still doesn't have a recall that we trust, as she has the nose a bloodhound and will follow it. She remains a 'work-in-progress' when it comes to trust. She did well with our pre-school grandchildren, but we see flashes of 'get-back-jack' with some dogs at the dog park. She wants to bark at the door: protection, not aggression. She is UTD, spade, a healthy 40 pounds of delightful girly- girl. Do you have a home for our ... (Read More)Autumn? Animal ID: HollyHolly (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I'm HOLLY, an adorable 10 month old female, 30 lb., Australian Shepherd / Border Collie mix who has a zest for life!! I am a happy girl who loves to have fun. Doesn't everyone?? Being a herder, I need lots of daily exercise. That doesn't mean I have to race to the top of Pikes Peak daily, but once a month would be good. hahaha. I do enjoy lots of activities including rock hopping, running and playing with other dogs; playing fetch with my foster mom, and a nice walk along the river. And I do walk nicely on a leash. I'm super smart and I am learning basic commands quickly. I know sit, stay, shake, look (into my mom's eyes for ... (Read More)direction), leave it and come. I'm highly treat and praise motivated and find learning new things lots of fun. So training sessions is one of favorite times of the day! Today I learned how to go through one of those 4 foot catepillar like tunnel. Wowza that was fun! fun! fun! Actually it was a little scary at first but after I went through it and survived, I wanted to do it again and again and again. I love my toys especially my frisbee. I am really good at catching it too! And so you don't think I'm all about being in motion, I am a cuddler too and enjoy snuggling with my loved ones. So that's about it for now. Oh! one more thing...you can see just how cute and adorable I am on youtube at https://youtu.be/xZN97WeWU4Y, So how about you? Do you have an adventurous and playful spirit, a big fenced in yard, a doggie or two who like a furever friend and a place in your heart and home for a sweetheart like me? If so, come and get me soon. I'm Holly. HOLLY is spayed and up to date on age appropriate vaccines. Adoption fee is $395. Please note that training is recommended for all dogs. As with all rescue animals, breed determination cannot be validated without genetic testing. Visit WWW.LULUSRESCUE.ORG and click on the ADOPT tab for an overview of the Lulu's Rescue adoption process. Thank you for adopting and saving a life - YOU ARE HOLLY'S HERO! (Less)

Animal ID: ShellyShelly (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Shelly has been in foster with us since 5/31/14. She's shy and easily overwhelmed, but once settled into a home she's affectionate, sweet, loves to play, loves squeak toys, and is ridiculously solidly housebroken. When she gets nervous, she barks until you come over and either pet her or let her into the bedroom so she can be alone. She reminds us of Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory (very quirky/requires structure), hence the name Shelly (that's what his mother calls him). We estimate she's around 7 years old now and weighs 42 lb. Fenced yard required. Very strong on leash but she loves to romp around in our fenced yard. ... (Read More)--------------------------------------------------------------------- We think she continues to be stressed here because we have foster dogs coming and going and she's not a fan of change. So we're listing her again to see if anyone wants to try to give her a calmer forever home. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Shelly is fostered in Blakeslee PA 18610. Please check driving distance to us. It will take several meetings at our place and yours before we can consider transitioning her. --------------------------------------------------------------------- This would be a foster-to-adopt arrangement to give her and you time to settle in together. She's a good watch dog which means she's not suitable for condo or apartment living. She does well here at our 1 acre wooded property. I think a densely populated area would be too stressful for her. --------------------------------------------------------------------- She's looking for someone who's a homebody because Shelly's favorite place to be is home. She's a very sweet dog...if you can handle her quirkiness. She loves to be touched and brushed (once she knows you). --------------------------------------------------------------------- If interested, we can take more videos to show you how she behaves around people she knows. She will be very nervous/stressed when she meets you, but the videos would give you an idea what she can be like after she settles in. No cats. No kids. No exceptions.     Meet Maleena, a gorgeous border collie mix who is around one and half years old! She is a princess in her own mind! PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Pennsylvania
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Pennsylvania if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
