This dog is very sweet and great with all other dogs. She is a border collie mix. She is guessed at 21 months but we believe she is younger than that. She was 32 lbs. when we brought her home but she has grown in height and weight and chewed a lot like a puppy. She is not chewing as much now. I would guess her weight at about 37 - 40 lbs. She is black and white. Very cute short haired. No health problems. She is not fitting in on our farm. She does great with the free range chickens and all other dogs but not well with our barn cats. I believe if she were worked with within the home with cats she could be trained out of chasing them. She likes to chase our barn cats and we can not be without our barn cats. (Less)

Approximately a year old mix, no idea what she is mixed with. She walks well on a leash, is smart and a quick learner, takes treats gently. She has had all of her shots, including rabies but has not been spayed. She loves everyone after she has a few minutes to get to know you but may not be best for very small children as she has plenty of energy. She is hit or miss with other dogs she does not always get along well with them - she is food aggressive with other animals. She was a dog I took in and really needs to find a home of her own. *She is looking for someone willing to work through her behavioral problems with her* She is probably about 30#s about knee high or a little less. Rabies certificate and small baggie of food will come with her. Located in Greenwood, SC NO adoption fee to approved home with spay and return to me only contract. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 15-05-28-00326Okie (male)|
Okie's human died last month. Okie does not like cats. I have a cat. Okie is a very loyal, loving dog. He wants a lot of attention, petting, etc, but if you tell him to lie down he will. He has been good with my little dog. I've seen no food aggression. He learned to crate with a treat in only a few days. He is a very smart dog. He is house-broken but likes to go out for walks or runs and drives. His human was my father and he lived in the country and just let Okie run and roam which he loves to do. I live by a busy road so he is leash walked, which he does well. I don't want to have to place him in another home but the cat has started taunting him so I'm not in a happy place. As with a lot of animals, he does not like thunderstorms but this is under control with medication. (Less)

Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
