|Rescue Me ID: 17-07-30-00444Fern (female)|
Meet Fern. She and her sister were found wandering around a rural area. When they were ultimately caught, they were covered with ticks and fleas. The ticks were fully engorged. Fern received immediate treatment for the fleas and ticks and is on her way to be healthy. She is a little timid in new situations but warms up nicely. She loves to be pet and gives kisses all the time. She is very playful and wants to find her forever family. She appears to be Doberman and Border Collie mix. She favors the Border Collie, while her sister favors the Doberman side. She is a fluffy ball of cuteness, that won't last long. They have not been spayed or received shots, but will be shortly. She and her sister Porsche are extremely close and would prefer to be adopted together. But if not, both will do fine. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-07-21-00015PIPER (female)|
Available For Adoption. Adoption application/contract, home visit, vet reference and adoption fee required. PIPER. Border Collie Mix. Female. 2.5yrs old. Spayed. UTD on vaccines. Very petite. Docked tail. Piper has been searching for her home for quite some time now. Being that she must be the only dog has hindered her from doing so (unless she goes to the home of a certified trainer, I absolutely will not place her with other dogs). Piper is an all around AMAZING dog. Extremely smart, easily trainable (hand signals, but needs refreshing), bonds very close to her human and always wanting to please you. She is excellent off leash and has great recall, tho she will not stray out of sight of you! She enjoys swimming, hiking and playing fetch with just about anything. Piper is food aggressive towards other animals. Never any aggression towards a child or adult. You can play in her food bowl and she is completely fine. She is also very dog selective, which is why she will not be placed with another dog. She can be fine one minute and attack a dog the next. She is small but she is relentless and will not stop until you stop her. We will go a good distance, within reason, to place her in a GOOD home, AFTER a successful meet and greet, which you must come to us for. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-07-15-00506Oreo (female)|
Date into Rescue: 2/8/2017 Reason for being in rescue: NC shelter, owner surrender, owner was moving. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Oreo is heart worm positive, She will be sent home with a years worth of heart worm prevenitive. Weight: 79 lbs Height: Estimated 17' at the shoulder. Adoption Fee: $125 Fence needed? Not needed but Oreo would love one. What kind of home would be best for me? I would love somewhere to romp and play and run and then come inside for a snooze with someone who loves me! What is my personality like? Oreo came to the rescue as a bonded pair with her little poodle friend, Bailey. We have monitored them closely and have realized Oreo and Bailey have grew apart since they have gotten here and would be better separated. Oreo has grew into herself and realized she loves to romp and play. She is always running and playing in our big field where her other big dog friends play with her. After a full day of play she loves to sun or play in the cool grass. Oreo has a pretty moderate energy level- she does like to run the fields but she also knows when it is time to quiet down. She is pretty independent for the most part but she enjoys having affection as well, She does not need to go to a home with other small animals, she seems to think they are toys! Oreo would make a great addition to the right family! Since leaving Bailey she has found that she doesn't really like little dogs all that much, she likes dogs of her own size! How I act when I first meet new people: Friendly. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: Estimated birth date 2/8/2011. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. |Rescue Me ID: 14-11-14-00035Kabuki (male)|
Kabuki is a Border Collie / Pointer Mix. Now about 5yrs young. Buki will make a wonderful, easy addition to any household! Kabuki is named for the form of Japanese Theatre that uses face masks and/or elaborate make-up in it's very dramatic performances because Buki wears a brown face mask on his adorable full white body, just a little squishy cutie pie! His golden eyes are very striking, intense and very observant, he is a very intelligent boy. Notice his heart shaped marking on his forehead, that is the mark of a very loving boy. Kabuki or 'Buki' as we call him, is a perfectly obedient sweet boy in everyway! Friendly with other friendly dogs once he gets to know them, will be shy and cautiously careful at first. Loves all humans, very happy and excited to be with human kids! A very good, mannerly, VERY well house trained boy. He is respectful of all things in the home, (just don't leave shoes out, that is his guilty pleasure!) otherwise, he is non-destructive and loves his cozy bed and blankies and chew toys and stuffed toys, no destruction what so ever! Buk loves attention and affection. He is easygoing, you can do anything with him, play dress up, etc... Loves walks, car rides, outings of all kinds. Very happy and social! A perfect dog that Loves, Loves, Loves his daily walks and is a great leash walker! Will run off to explore if walking off leash, but not far off... as he is an adventurer and a chaser of squirrels, rabbits, etc... But we keep all safe from harm here, no hunting allowed. This boy is such a great dog and he is eagerly awaiting his happy ever after home. He is a great car rider and loves going with you on trips short or long! He is very social and does great walking in busy areas, and going to stores like pet smart, Lowes, etc... Please give Buki the chance he sooo deserves at a happy home, he is such a good boy! Kabuki is HW Neg and is on HW preventative, as well as Advantix Plus monthly flea & tick preventative. UTD on all vaccines and healthy! |PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in South Carolina|
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
