Approximately a year old mix, no idea what she is mixed with. She walks well on a leash, is smart and a quick learner, takes treats gently. She has had all of her shots, including rabies but has not been spayed. She loves everyone after she has a few minutes to get to know you but may not be best for very small children as she has plenty of energy. She is hit or miss with other dogs she does not always get along well with them - she is food aggressive with other animals. She was a dog I took in and really needs to find a home of her own. *She is looking for someone willing to work through her behavioral problems with her* She is probably about 30#s about knee high or a little less. Rabies certificate and small baggie of food will come with her. Located in Greenwood, SC NO adoption fee to approved home with spay and return to me only contract. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 15-05-28-00326Okie (male)|
Okie's human died last month. Okie does not like cats. I have a cat. Okie is a very loyal, loving dog. He wants a lot of attention, petting, etc, but if you tell him to lie down he will. He has been good with my little dog. I've seen no food aggression. He learned to crate with a treat in only a few days. He is a very smart dog. He is house-broken but likes to go out for walks or runs and drives. His human was my father and he lived in the country and just let Okie run and roam which he loves to do. I live by a busy road so he is leash walked, which he does well. I don't want to have to place him in another home but the cat has started taunting him so I'm not in a happy place. As with a lot of animals, he does not like thunderstorms but this is under control with medication. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 15-04-12-00688Mable (female)|
Meet Mable! Breed: Aus Shepard/ Border Collie Gender: Female Adoption Fee: $200 Date into Rescue: 3/27/2015 Reason for being in rescue: Found as a stray Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? No Weight: Est 35 lbs Height: Est 18 What is my personality like? Mable was found by a nice Farmer out in one of his cow pastures. She was timid at first but once he offered her food, she became his best friend and followed him everywhere. Because she was stray, the nice man took her to his home and she settled in wonderfully. He tried for two weeks to find her owners but no one stepped up and claimed her. He could not keep her, and reached out to us for help. We were there for him. Mable is a sweet, loving girl who would be an excellent dog for someone who owns a lot of land. She knows what it is like to have space to run and play and she likes it. Mable is however a fence climber, and that is perhaps how she became a stray in the first place. She will not climb unless left unattended. Who I am seeking: Age: est 2 years old Please understand that these are rescued dogs, and sometimes their ages are only a guess. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture, and not to discriminate against older dogs. You never know which dog will steal your heart when you meet them! How I act when I first meet new people: Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. You can also read our adoption tips page for hints and helps on adopting a rescued dog. http://www.carolinapoodlerescue.org/AdoptionTips.shtml or for general information on Carolina Poodle Rescue, please visit our FAQs - http://www.carolinapoodlerescue.org/FAQGeneral.shtml (Less)

Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
