This young man was born in our shelter and we had a wonderful foster step forward and took all six and the mama. While we were weaning some of the puppies began having seizures, our vet unfortunately couldn't get them under control and they were euthanized. We waited to see if any problems would occur with these puppies, and thankfully they have done well. They are now available for adoption!

|Animal ID: #14-08-11-00505Marcey (female)|
Marcey is a very sweet girl that needs to have a child to run and play with or a job. I rescued her 9 months ago from some one that was starving her. She does have food aggression towards other dogs but not people. She just has to be fed by herself. She will make a older child a great companion she is just to excited for your attention she may knock a small child over on accident. She just wants to be loved by everyone.

Hi my name is Morgan and I am almost 3 years old. I am a border collie mix and love to play. She is a beautiful dog and we hate to get rid of her we are looking to put her in a great home with lots of room to run as this is what she needs. She gets along great with kids and other dogs. She is a great coddler and loves attention however we are moving and there is not enough room for her to run and I would hate to keep her cooped up. Please help us find her a good home.

|Rescue Me ID: 14-06-22-00494Fern (female)|
Fern is a female Beagle/Border Collie Mix, 2 YO , she is house broken, knows sit and stay, she has all shots and is spayed. She is happy go lucky and need more time than we have. She is good with other dogs and cats. She loves to play. We also have two children and she is great with them. We are would like to re-home her to a family with time, space and a place in their heart for this girl. She is a Parvo survivor and she likes to run if she gets out (need a fence or leash walks), however she always come back. Just to let you know, your typical Beagle is much smaller than Fern. She is around 45-50lbs. Looks more like a foxhound. Would like re-homing fee. We are not interested in recouping all expenses, but would like to know prospect is serious about having and loving her. We are looking at a move in the next 3-4 months and hope to find her a great place to live before then. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 14-05-24-00493Lela (female)|
Lela has a story to tell. She deserves for the story to be over and her forever family to have come. Lela was a stray, being cared for by a local neighborhood and living on the street. She was known as 'happy' because she smiled with big pearly teeth when she was excited. Eventually, Animal Control caught her and she was taken to the pound with her buddies. All of her friends were put to sleep and we pulled Lela at the last minute. She was severely emaciated, skin and bones, and covered in ticks. She went immediately to the vet where it was diagnosed that she had 4 tick borne diseases and was heartworm positive, but we couldn't give up on her! She started a month of treatment and was soon healthy from all but the heartworms. Lela is vet guessed to be 5 years old and is wonderful with other dogs, and cats. She has also been great with our children. Lela was adopted by a great family who wanted to do slow kill hearlworm treatment which of course is a blessing to rescue finances. Unfortunately, the home did not work out for Lela although they loved her. She is now back at rescue and on the hunt for her real home and family. She deserves it so much after all she has been through. This girl deserves love, stability, and a wonderful forever home. We hate to have her back at rescue as she is going to get more sad after losing a chance at a home! Please consider opening your heart to this lovely girl! Lela's adoption fee is $150. |PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in South Carolina|
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
