|Rescue Me ID: 15-02-10-00152Pandy (female)|
Approximately a year old mix, no idea what she is mixed with. She is working on Obedience training, knows sit, come, working on down and stay. She is smart and a quick learner, takes treats gently. She has had all of her shots, including rabies but has not been spayed. She loves kids and is good with people after she has a few minutes to get to know you but may not be best for very small children as she has plenty of energy. She can be dominant with other dogs. She was a dog I took in and really needs to find a home of her own. She is probably about 25-30#s about knee high. Rabies certificate and small baggie of food will come with her. |Rescue Me ID: 14-10-18-00343Blake (male)|
Meet Blake! Breed: border collie mix Gender: male Adoption Fee: $125 Date into Rescue: 7/10/14 Reason for being in rescue: Owner Release to local shelter, cannot take care of. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? No Weight: Est 40lbs needs to gain a lot Height: Est 22' What is my personality like? Blake is a sweet boy, who is searching for his new forever family. He is gentle by nature, and is also playful. Since we had him neutered, he has really turned into a great boy - and has calmed down a lot! He likes other dogs and people. Blake can be shy at first, but once he knows you aren't going to hurt him, he wants to be your best friend. He loves to be petted and talked to sweetly. Blake keeps his crate clean most of the time, and is working on house training (which has dramatically improved). He loves treats! Who I am seeking: I am seeking someone who has experience with dogs, and who will be willing to take me to obedience classes. I am a very intelligent guy and need to learn some basic commands. I am eager to please someone - He must be adopted by someone who has a fenced in yard. Age: est 2 years old Please understand that these are rescued dogs, and sometimes their ages are only a guess. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture, and not to discriminate against older dogs. You never know which dog will steal your heart when you meet them! How I act when I first meet new people: Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. |Rescue Me ID: 14-05-24-00493Lela (female)|
Lela has a story to tell. She deserves for the story to be over and her forever family to have come. Lela was a stray, being cared for by a local neighborhood and living on the street. She was known as 'happy' because she smiled with big pearly teeth when she was excited. Eventually, Animal Control caught her and she was taken to the pound with her buddies. All of her friends were put to sleep and we pulled Lela at the last minute. She was severely emaciated, skin and bones, and covered in ticks. She went immediately to the vet where it was diagnosed that she had 4 tick borne diseases and was heartworm positive, but we couldn't give up on her! She started a month of treatment and was soon healthy from all but the heartworms. Lela is vet guessed to be 5 years old and is wonderful with other dogs, and cats. She has also been great with our children. Lela was adopted by a great family who wanted to do slow kill hearlworm treatment which of course is a blessing to rescue finances. Unfortunately, the home did not work out for Lela although they loved her. She is now back at rescue and on the hunt for her real home and family. She deserves it so much after all she has been through. This girl deserves love, stability, and a wonderful forever home. We hate to have her back at rescue as she is going to get more sad after losing a chance at a home! Please consider opening your heart to this lovely girl! Lela's adoption fee is $150. |PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in South Carolina|
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
