Rescue Me ID: 15-06-17-00666Francis (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Francis is a 4 year old tri-color Border Collie mix weighing about 50 pounds. She is up to date on all of her vaccines and takes a monthly heart worm and flea/tick preventative. She is gentle & sweet with a mild temperament. She loves attention but is content to snooze and have alone time as well. She is a loyal pup who loves to follow you around the house and provide quiet companionship. Hunting is her sport of choice. She is a top notch hunter and is great if you want to keep pesky animals away from your property : ) She is not high energy, but is used to getting a daily walk/run, playing fetch in the yard at least once a day and LOVES to ... (Read More)wander around outside. She is a great watch dog and will alert you if she hears or sees anything. She loved her crate as a puppy and would love to have a house outside as well as a little shelter inside (she sleeps under the vanity in the bathroom) and likes to have a cozy space to rest. She was rescued from the humane society when she was 3 months old and has grown up in a very loving & calm household. She is housebroken and trustworthy in the house. She is very smart, knows lots of tricks and could be trained to do many more. She is a little stubborn and has a mind of her own for sure, so patience is key with training. She is gentle with children, although I would not recommend her around very small ones as she gets nervous around loud voices/yelling. She has a beautiful, dense coat and a long, thick tail. She has a fairly dominant personality and would do well paired with a more submissive companion, but may not do well in a group. She is in great health however we give her a natural inflammatory every few days in the form of a pill to avoid flare ups that cause wheezing. This is a minor condition like an allergy. Francis has been a well loved companion that we are letting go of out of necessity. Our goal is to find a family who will love her as much as we have, who has space for her to run and explore & will enjoy her gentle, loving nature. She has grown up with her brother Hank and they could go as a pair if someone interested in both of them! Hank & Francis reside in Nashville, we are willing to bring one or both to you for an 'interview' if interested. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-06-17-00649Hank (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hank is a 4 year old tri-color Border Collie mix weighing about 55 pounds. He is up to date on all of his vaccines and takes a monthly heart worm and flea/tick preventative. He has lots of energy and enjoys going for walks, learning new tricks & fetching his tennis ball! He is very smart and easy to train and loves to please his people. Even though he is always up for playing, he is a sweet boy who loves to cuddle, get brushed, and be lavished with attention in general. He is a beautiful dog with a big personality. Hank is very friendly and would be great for a family with no small children, as he gets nervous around the high energy and ... (Read More)quick movements of little ones. He was rescued from the humane society when he was 3 months old and has grown up in a very loving & calm household. He is housebroken and trustworthy in the house (although he is a sock thief!). He loves to snuggle in his people's clothes and has been known to raid the laundry. He is a bit anxious when being handled in certain ways - I always have him muzzled at the vet and would do the same in a grooming situation (though I prefer to bathe him at home to avoid a stressful situation for him). He gets nervous when it comes to applying medications, giving pills, cutting nails, or being touched when he is in pain. He is a sensitive boy and needs an owner who is a respectful pack leader that he can trust. Hank would get along well with a companion but may not do well in a group of dogs. He is a very special dog and has brought years of happiness to our family. Unfortunately, he is not comfortable around our toddler and we want him to have the life he deserves with a family that he can happily coexist with. He is an active dog, so he needs a family who has time to play ball, go for walks and has space for him to run. He is smart as a whip and would be a great candidate for agility and could be trained to work/herd. He has a gorgeous, smooth coat with an impressive long, thick tail. His eyes are bright and expressive. He really is a treasure and we know he will bring a lot of enrichment & happiness to someone else's life in his next adventure! He has grown up with his sister Francis and they could go as a pair to someone interested in both of them! Hank & Francis reside in Nashville, we are willing to bring one or both to you for an 'interview' if interested. (Less)

Bo has been a fun family member for 4 years. He is a Border Collie mix with strong herding instincts. He would make a great agility dog or farm dog with some time and attention. He can catch a tennis ball no matter how it is thrown and stays with the game FOREVER. He is super smart and sweet with people and with his 'sister' Ava (purebred GSD). He is not good with other neighbor dogs or small children. He shows dominance and protective tendencies that are causing us to seek a better situation for him. Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Female Dogs Only, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adult Women Only
Personality: High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Badger is a very loving and loyal pet to his owners. He prefers to protect the people in his home. We rescued him from the Humane Society about three yrs ago. He has been a great family pet until a few months ago when he displayed aggression towards a child (male) and a young adult (male). Both were bitten. The young boy did not have skin broken, however the young male adult did. I feel Badger would do best on a farm, working as a herd dog. He is very smart and loves to be the boss.

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Kip has been living on a farm with his foster mom since rescue. He is highly intelligent, loyal, and very attentive to his human. He is super sweet and would be great for someone who is physically active, willing to take him places with them, and spend time with him providing new challenges and adventures. Kip learns quickly and is eager to please. He might be a great candidate for fly ball, agility training, frisbee, etc. He knows, sit, wait, enough, down, comes when called, shake hands, off, is crate trained, is house trained and loves to go everywhere you do! Kip loves car rides, and is very loving. He would thrive in a home with lots of ... (Read More)outdoor space for supervised playtime, but must primarily be an inside dog. Kip is looking for a loving home with someone who is not gone most of the day, and is going to provide him with consistent stability and companionship. People who travel a lot and plan on boarding Kip during those times will not be considered. He weighs approx. 45-50 pds. 2 years old, approx. and appears to be border collie mixed with some lab and possibly a bit of boxer. No medical issues, fully vetted, microchipped, hw negative and neutered. He has a docked tail which was done surgically prior to rescue, or he was born that way. Kip is coal black with a super shiny, soft coat that does not shed a lot. You can click on the video under the picture to view more pics of Kip, and some video of him playing with another foster, Carli. Please read about border collies before inquiring to see if that personality is one you could live with. Kip has a lot of those traits, and could be viewed as problematic by some. His foster mom loves the traits, and sees them as assets, however not everyone understands the needs and behaviors of herding dogs such as Kip. Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

JESTER is not joking when it comes to finding a forever home! This sweet dog is sure to add some serious fun to your family. As far as tricks go, Jester knows 'sit' and will give you his paw when asked. He was picked up as a stray in Union City, TN. He was not claimed during his hold time there, so he was rescued. He is a Border Collie mix who runs on the smaller side at 22 pounds although some weight gain is expected now that he is getting 3 squares. He is estimated to be 2 years old. Jester is current on vaccinations and neutered. He tested positive for heartworm and is receiving treatment for that. If you live in another state, ... (Read More)don't let that stand in your way.     Border Collie Mix & Golden Retriever ~ Adult ~ Male ~ Large~ located at the Carroll County Humane Society McKenzie, TN (West Tn) Moe is a stunningly big dog at 85 pounds who is just a dreamboat. He is a big boy but such a goof who loves everyone and everything. He enjoys walks, play time, snacks, and is just a terrific mellow but still playful guy. We are guessing on his breeding but he has very border collie markings but clearly his size is much larger than a BC and he has a very roman nose profile almost like a Golden and he has the personality of a golden - friendly, affectionate, eager-to-please, and just wonderful. PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Tennessee
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
