Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

Aussie mix Meet Lula. She was a stray in North Memphis. She will go to Gentle Care Animal Hospital Monday for a bath, shots, and wound check (she has a neck wound.) She is scared of people right now, but she won't be for long under our care! She was very afraid of people. She has a deep puncture wound and slice on her neck. It seems she was abused severely. She jumps back and cowers when we go to pet her. She completed treatment for ringworm and is UTD on shots, microchipped, and spayed. She now lets us pet her! I want her to go to an adopter who has at least one dog that does not mind being licked quite a lot by Lula.

Turk is a sweet, laid back older dog. We think he's 9. He's perfectly house-trained. He loves milk bones. He does have a broken tooth but it doesn't seem to bother him. He was my mom's dog and had been since he was a puppy. She was diagnosed with dementia and can't care for him any longer. I just want to find him a loving home he can live out the rest of his days.

My name is Charlie. I am a labrador retriever/border collie mix. I am playful, energetic, and affectionate, although I am a bit shy with new folks, I warm up quickly. My favorite activity is playing tag with my sister, Chelsea and chillin' in my pool. My sister and I were abandoned on the side of the road, in bad shape when were were about 10 weeks old. Thankfully were were found and brought to rescue where we would be safe and loved, but what I really want is a home of my very own and one for my sister also, we have been waiting so long to share our love with a family, one that will never abandon us, one that will love us forever. Rescue Me ID: 16-12-04-00396Frederick (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Frederick is my 7th rescue from bad situation and bad circumstances. He is about a year and a half old. Approximately 60 pounds. Very hyper and rough in play. The reason I put good with adults not kids is because he is very hyper and rough in play. I have never saw any aggressive tendencies. Barks very little. Despite being hyper and rough in play he is sweet and loving when he calms down. He will require a fenced in yard with plenty of room to play and run off his energy. Not housebroken. Never been an inside dog because I have 4 little dogs in my house 2 of which are old and special needs and I fear his size and hyperness he would hurt ... (Read More)them on accident. I don't think he would on purpose. He does not growl or bark at other dogs. I just am afraid to introduce him to other animals because of his size and overly being hyper. Utd on shots. Neutered. On heartworm prevention. And heartworm negative. The 100 dollar rehoming fee is negotiable with a home check to ensure suitable living situation for him. Bet references required. (Less)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed

Wednesday has had a rough start to life. Her owner had 7 bigger dogs in the house, she fought for food and attention. She was then put on a 18 wheeler truck for a month. Not a good mix for a young Border Collie. Truck driver abandoned her at the terminal I have been fostering her for 3 weeks now. She is well adjusted to my calm loving home but I cannot keep her because I live in an apartment and she has no where to run and I do not trust her to run in the field next to me because I do not know if she would come back. Shes very sweet and loves to cuddle at night. She has a chip and I have the website and chip number to have it ... (Read More)transferred. Rescue Me ID: 16-08-17-00136Seamus (male)

Border Collie    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very High Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Seamus is a really sweet, intelligent 3-year-old purebred border collie (we have his papers). He was bred by a farmer in New Mexico who treated him very well. We raised him from 3 months and never physically corrected or harmed him. He knows all the basic commands, learns quickly, and even responds to hand gestures. Seamus is really a great dog, but unfortunately we are finding that our living situation doesn't meet his needs. He loves to swim, fetch, and run, but is growing increasingly fearful and anxious, which causes him to sometimes growl and bear his teeth at us (and sometimes bite). We live in a camper and have to travel often, and ... (Read More)he needs more space, stability, and an owner with more experience handling unstable dogs. I wouldn't fully trust him around kids, who don't know how to read his body language when he's hiding and feeling anxious. I want to emphasize that Seamus was never abused and is a wonderful dog, but he needs rehabbing. He needs daily, intensive exercise for his body and mind, and potentially could even be helped by anti-anxiety medication. We love this dog and this has been a difficult decision, but we've realized we can't give him what he needs and his quality of life is suffering. For the right people who have the time, patience, and resources to work with him, he would be an amazing dog. (Less)

Maryanne is a beautiful black and white Border Collie/Lab mix. She is a bit chunky, but she can run like the wind! She is very affectionate and loving with people, but she is selective when it comes to dogs. Her approximate date of birth is March of 2008, so she's not exactly a young girl. She has spent most of her life at Rescue, after she and her brother were tossed over the shelter fence in the middle of the night. She has known great love here but little else. PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Tennessee
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
