Rescue Me ID: 17-11-04-00195Milo (male)
This is Milo, an unaltered male Border Collie/Great Pyrenees mix. His is around 6 years old. Here is the situation I am currently in. This was my dad's dog, my dad just passed away very unexpectedly a couple of weeks ago. He was a good man, but not very fair to this dog. The situation the dog is currently living in is not a good one, and even though my mom loves this dog, she cannot handle him. He is not a bad dog, he is very protective of my mom and has never offered to bite or hurt me. However, he does get aggressive when men come around, but I think that's a protection issue about my mom. I can't guarantee his temperament around other people or animals, but I do know he is very loving and deserves a chance to have a happy life. He has lived on a chain most of his life, and I feel the aggression he sometimes shows is just him needing to be able to run. A dog needs freedom to run, especially this breed. I truly believe in my heart if I could find someone willing to work with him that could provide a big fenced in yard, or a big farm--which would be better--that he would thrive. I know with his age this is truly an unknown, but I desperately need help for this animal. I don't want to have to go an alternative route. Due to my dad's unexpected passing and my health situation, I cannot physically or financially provide everything this dog needs. He has not had vaccines either. I was going to have a vet come out to give them, but the cost was more than I could afford, and we are not in a position in which we can carry him out to a vet. If there is a rescue out there willing to take him, I will give what I can to help cover some of the costs needed in getting his vet care. I just want to find him a good home. Please help so I don't have to have him put down. Thank you. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-30-00018Roscoe (male)
Roscoe is around 8 years old, he is a VERY loyal dog. My family recently added a baby to the situation and it is not working out. He does not like kids so he needs to go to a home that is kid free. He is a low-medium energy level dog. He does not require hours of running every day however he does enjoy a walk or two. I am looking for a family that will take good care of Roscoe, he has been my baby for 8 years. I will most likely require a home visit if you are seriously interested. I live north of Nashville and am willing to drive for serious inquires. Contact Kelsey at 615-887-6066, text first please.

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-29-00032Buttercup (female)
Buttercup came to HARTT Rescue because she was a young dog in a household with older humans and older small dogs. She didn't do anything wrong other than be a normal aussie/border collie-type mix puppy with normal puppy (she is 10-months old now) activity and behaviors. She is a beautiful, soft-coated girl with great manners, house training, and appropriate energy levels. She is looking for a home where she can be active during the day and play with other dogs around her size. In her previous home, she had two cats who played with her and a 7-year old grandchild, so she likes cats and kids. She is currently in a home with six other dogs of various ages and sizes and has done extremely well fitting into the pack. She LOVES to play with them and loves to get wet in the pool! She is vocal when she wants something or you are playing with her. Buttercup is a sweet, loving girl who will make a wonderful family dog. Her coat is a dark chocolate (almost mahogany) color with white. She is soft and cuddly. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-12-00483Olivia (female)
[Read About Natural Cancer Care] Leslee of Sweet Strays Rescued. Olivia needs a loving home for the next 6-24 months. She does have a cancerous tumor on her bladder that is inoperable. She is very sweet, and you would not even know she was sick except for the fact that blood is in her urine, and she constantly thinks she needs to pee. If you have the heart that can be her happy, loving home til it is time for her to cross the Rainbow Bridge, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. We will provide all that we can for her care. Anything you provide for her is a tax deductible donation. She loves car rides but is still learning how to balance during one. She walks well on a leash. She likes to go outside a lot. She rarely barks. She has lots of love and joy to give. She is UTD on all shots, spayed, and micro-chipped. She was a stray that was picked up. Her hair is growing back for she had a skin infection. She takes Heartguard and NexGard monthly. She will only eat her meds in canned Taste of the Wild food. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-09-30-00172Harper (female)
If you have been looking for a wonderful family dog to adopt, Harper is looking for you! This gorgeous 7 month old female Boxer mix is about the nicest dog you will find. She is gentle and sweet, good with dogs and people of all sizes and ages. Harper is fixed, up to date on shots, very healthy and house trained. She is so smart, cuddly, playful and loving. She is a big dog, weighing about 50 pounds now, and will likely grow more as she gets older. Harper's owners love her so much, but have realised how unfair it is to her that they have such a small amount of time to give her. They are all busy with work and school, and Harper spends far too much time on her own. They are dearly hoping to find her a very loving home where she will receive all the love, attention, exercise and playtime that she needs and deserves. Harper would fit in well in many different situations. A family with children, retired dog lovers, or even a single dog lover with plenty of time for her. Harper will be rehomed with all of her supplies and vet records. All you need to add is plenty of love and a safe, happy and healthy home. Adopt Harper today! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-07-05-00280Chip-a-wah (male)
Mr cute ears....one flops sideways : ) Not sure what his mix is. What a happy guy. He is very sweet. He has several other dog friends here, but there is one he just don't like. Chip-a-wah is about 15 months old. He is just the perfect age for training, and I would suggest that for any dog at this 'perfect age.' While inside he is potty trained and a real good snuggle pup. He is only about knee high and weighs around 25-30 pounds. A very cute, cool little guy. Loves to play, loves humans more than anything, thinks he is going to 'get' the livestock though so not sure how that would be.... He is an absolute doll, you should at least come meet him, you won't be sorry. He is used to getting a kiss goodnight....every night, since he has been here. HE is always smiling now.....He craves human attention. He is up to date on all his shots until Summer of 2018. He is used to being inside at night and mid day nap time, he plays well outside during good weather, he has not chewed up anything while here. He will make someone a very good BFF. If you are home alot, alone, and need some attention too....this IS YOUR DOG) He likes to jump on things outside, so you need at least a 5 foot fence or taller, and nothing like a trash can can be next to it or he may jump over...which might explain why such a cute and friendly pup got picked up as a stray and ended up at the kill shelter I rescued him from. He is a totally cute and unusual dog. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-12-29-00033Juan (f.k.a. Henry) (male)
Good morning! Or should I say good afternoon?! My name is Juan. I am medium sized boy around 18 months old, 35 lbs and heartworm negative. I was originally dumped out of a car in a very rural area around Christmas time last year. Luckily, someone saw it happen and so I came into rescue. I was adopted somewhat quickly and have really done well, except both I and the other dog I live with have food guarding issues and we are having altercations. You see, we have small kids in our home and they often have food in their hands and drop it. That makes it almost impossible for an altercation not to happen with our food issues. Since the family has had the other dog for years before me, it's only fair that I need to look for a new home. So, please don't get me wrong! I am good with other dogs and kids. I've just been starved before, so I can't help but be protective of it and always try to go for it, especially when the other dog is just like me. So, if there are children in the home or that visit often, it would be best if they were older. I really love to cuddle, as you can see in my pictures! This family has so many nice things to say about me and all the good I possess. I am crate trained and I am also great on a leash. I have gone to doggy day care and done well there as well! So, what are you waiting for?! I'd love to meet you! Complete an application online to meet and potentially adopt me at www.RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org! My adoption fee is $175.00. I am neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. *PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT RURALANIMALRESCUEEFFORT.ORG **An application and home visit/meet & greet are required prior to adoption. All of our pets are or will be spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines and micro-chipped prior to adoption. Please complete the application on our website and we will call you to answer any questions you may have. Our ability to perform out of state adoptions is limited and reviewed on a case by case basis. If you are not in TN, please ask us about the potential of adopting the specific animal you are interested in. Our adoption fees not only help the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heart-worm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need to be made available for adoption. Thank you for choosing to adopt, foster, or aid in the rescue efforts of RARE! |Rescue Me ID: 16-02-07-00081MaryAnne (female)|
Maryanne is a beautiful black and white Border Collie/Lab mix. She is a bit chunky, but she can run like the wind! She is very affectionate and loving with people, but she is selective when it comes to dogs. Her approximate date of birth is March of 2008, so she's not exactly a young girl. She has spent most of her life at Rescue, after she and her brother were tossed over the shelter fence in the middle of the night. She has known great love here but little else. We believe she deserves more than that, we believe she deserves to be a part of a family and we hope you will, too. If you would like to adopt MayAnne, please apply online http://www.adoptapet.com/rural-animal-rescue-effort-rare/adoption-application-2/ or email email@example.com and we'll get one to you. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Tennessee
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
