Meet Drew of the 'Charlie's Angels'. Her birthday is estimated to be 5/2/15 making her approximately 1 year old. She is a Border Collie mix and is the short haired girl of the litter. She weighs 35 pounds so will be a small/medium girl when full grown. This little girl came to us with her three sister's because they were surrendered to a kill shelter. The owner couldn't find a home for these little girls and he was ready for a new litter to take their place. We immediately went to their rescue so they wouldn't develop any illnesses while in the pound. Drew is an adventuresome little girl and loves to go running through the woods. She loves ... Rescue Me ID: 16-03-07-00177JimBob (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

JIMBOB is a handsome 18 to 20 month old Border Collie mix male who did not have a leg to stand on back in early January 2016. You see, his one front leg was broken. He was found in this condition on a country road in TN and was taken by the rescue to the vet where it was also found that he was heartworm positive. He underwent surgery to repair the broken leg and also underwent treatment to rid him of heartworms. He is healing nicely and is expected to make a full recovery. He weighs 58 pounds and he is current on vaccinations and neutered. Here is what JimBob's foster has to say about him. 'Jim Bob has a very sweet, gentle personality ... (Read More)and he gets along very well with other dogs. There have been cats out and about in the neighborhood and he has not shown any inclination to chase after them when we are out on the leash so I am inclined to believe he would get along well with them in a household environment. He likes his quiet time snuggling up next to me in bed in the evening while I watch TV or read a book. He walks pretty well on a leash, is very eager to please and he learns quickly. I believe he will do well with children, as he just wagged his tail watching the neighborhood boys riding their scooters and showed no signs of wanting to chase after them. He also sat nicely when two children petted him on their way home from school. He does very well riding in the van and plays well with my other dogs. He is housebroken and will go to the door and nudge the leash hanging over the doorknob when he needs to go out. When we are upstairs he will whine and go to the top of the stairs or start walking down to let me know he needs to go out. I believe he will make a fine companion for whoever adopts him.' Let's give JimBob a leg up on a happy future and find this great dog a good foster or forever home! If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport JimBob if it means he will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)3 non-profit rescue to cover part of the cost of the veterinary care he has received and a microchip. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-02-07-00081MaryAnne (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Maryanne is a beautiful black and white Border Collie/Lab mix. She is a bit chunky, but she can run like the wind! She is very affectionate and loving with people, but she is selective when it comes to dogs. Her approximate date of birth is March of 2008, so she's not exactly a young girl. She has spent most of her life at Rescue, after she and her brother were tossed over the shelter fence in the middle of the night. She has known great love here but little else. We believe she deserves more than that, we believe she deserves to be a part of a family and we hope you will, too. If you would like to adopt MayAnne, please apply online ... PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Tennessee
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
