Rescue Me ID: 18-01-06-00087LoLa (female)
Lola is an 11 month old pure Border Collie. I picked her up from a farm about a week ago. The original owner could no longer take care of her due to his age and illness. He kept her outside to watch over his sheep. She is a loving and friendly animal that easily gets along with my German Shepherd. She is skittish sometimes but most of the time she is very confident. Loves toys and very agile dog. *Update* Lola is not spayed and being 11 months I didn't think too much about separating my male German Shepherd from her. Yesterday (January 17th) I found them joined together. She will most likely have pups in 63 days. Wish I would of taken more precautions. Best regards, Gabriel (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-11-27-00079Lady (female)
Lady was one of 24 Border Collies taken by the Humane society when their owner died. She is very shy and standoffish. I cannot form a bond with her. She is a lovely dog and needs space to run and play.

Rescue Me ID: 16-12-29-00033Juan (f.k.a. Henry) (male)
Good morning! Or should I say good afternoon?! My name is Juan. I am medium sized boy around 18 months old, 35 lbs and heartworm negative. I was originally dumped out of a car in a very rural area around Christmas time last year. Luckily, someone saw it happen and so I came into rescue. I was adopted somewhat quickly and have really done well, except both I and the other dog I live with have food guarding issues and we are having altercations. You see, we have small kids in our home and they often have food in their hands and drop it. That makes it almost impossible for an altercation not to happen with our food issues. Since the family has had the other dog for years before me, it's only fair that I need to look for a new home. So, please don't get me wrong! I am good with other dogs and kids. I've just been starved before, so I can't help but be protective of it and always try to go for it, especially when the other dog is just like me. So, if there are children in the home or that visit often, it would be best if they were older. I really love to cuddle, as you can see in my pictures! This family has so many nice things to say about me and all the good I possess. I am crate trained and I am also great on a leash. I have gone to doggy day care and done well there as well! So, what are you waiting for?! I'd love to meet you! Complete an application online to meet and potentially adopt me at www.RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org! My adoption fee is $175.00. I am neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. *PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT RURALANIMALRESCUEEFFORT.ORG **An application and home visit/meet & greet are required prior to adoption. All of our pets are or will be spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines and micro-chipped prior to adoption. Please complete the application on our website and we will call you to answer any questions you may have. Our ability to perform out of state adoptions is limited and reviewed on a case by case basis. If you are not in TN, please ask us about the potential of adopting the specific animal you are interested in. Our adoption fees not only help the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heart-worm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need to be made available for adoption. Thank you for choosing to adopt, foster, or aid in the rescue efforts of RARE! Please visit www.RuralAnimalRescueEffort.org for foster and adoption applications or for additional information. ***Please Note*** The breeds noted are guesses on the part of the volunteers of RARE based on the physical characteristics of the particular animal. We are not breed experts and cannot afford to perform DNA tests; therefore, the noted breeds may not be exact. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-02-07-00081MaryAnne (female)
Maryanne is a beautiful black and white Border Collie/Lab mix. She is a bit chunky, but she can run like the wind! She is very affectionate and loving with people, but she is selective when it comes to dogs. Her approximate date of birth is March of 2008, so she's not exactly a young girl. She has spent most of her life at Rescue, after she and her brother were tossed over the shelter fence in the middle of the night. She has known great love here but little else. We believe she deserves more than that, we believe she deserves to be a part of a family and we hope you will, too. If you would like to adopt MayAnne, please apply online http://www.adoptapet.com/rural-animal-rescue-effort-rare/adoption-application-2/ or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll get one to you. Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
