Rescue Me ID: 18-04-19-00216Sky - playful & loving (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Deaf

Sky is a gorgeous mostly white Australian Shepherd / Border Collie mix with red spots. He is just one year old and weighs 33 lbs though he is tall for his size. Sky is a typical Aussie: outgoing, friendly, playful and affectionate. He absolutely loves to play with other dogs and is convinced that all dogs and people are his friends. Sky does like to chase cats so he would do best in a home without cats or other small animals. He is gentle so he would probably be great with children. Sky walks perfectly on a leash, without pulling at all and stays right beside his person while walking. He would be a great hiking companion since he ... (Read More)always stays with his person and frequently checks to make sure he is still beside you. Sky is completely deaf but that doesn't slow him down at all. Since he can't hear growling it is important to introduce him slowly to a new dog and give both dogs a little time to get to know each other. Sky just came to Healing Hearts two days ago so he is still working on his housetraining. His adoption fee is $200 which includes neuter, all shots, heartworm testing ( negative), deworming, microchip, flea and heartworm prevention, collar, leash and chew bone. Sky is ready for adoption now. He was a little damp from his bath in his pictures but is super fluffy now that he is dry. If you are interested in adopting this sweet boy please email healingheartsrescue@hotmail.com. You can also text (615) 290-2454. Please do not call us as we are not typically able to answer or reply to phone calls. Out of state adoptions are allowed but you would have to come and pick him up and have a home visit done ahead of time. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-04-16-00413Finley (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Finley is an energetic and outgoing 14 week, 15 lbs puppy who loves to have a good time. We believe he could be a mix of Border Collie and Australian Shepherd possibly '| so we will be requiring a fenced yard or farm for his adoption. He is up to date on his shots, neutered and micro chipped. We expect he will be medium/large sized when full grown. He will be available to go to his new home at the end of April. Finley is a whole lot of fun and loves playing with different toys and his foster mates. He loves going out the doggy door into the fenced yard to play and to bring me in the occasional stick ..lol At night he will curl up ... (Read More)on one of the dog beds or the couch for a little R & R. He is pretty confident and at times can be a bit pushy with the other pups. Overall he does very well with the other pups and dogs in his foster home. . We are working on potty training, but it is still a work in progress which will need to be continued in his new home while providing him with lots of love and support. Finley is currently located in Tennessee and the adoption fee is $250. Transportation may be available to out of state adopters for an additional cost depending on the area. The first step in our process is submitting the application. We are happy to set up a meet and greet once an application has been approved. If you would like to adopt Finley please fill out our online adoption application at http://safehaventn.com/ (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Tennessee
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
