Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Maxine! This adorable girl is just 4 months old. Maxine is a total smarty pants and already knows how to sit and shake. Maybe we should have named her Snoopy because she brings you her dog dish when she's hungry or out of water! She walks very well on a leash for her age. She's almost house trained and sometimes barks when she needs to go out. Maxine is a Labrador/Border Collie mix and will be about 40-50 pounds full grown.%0B We believe Maxine was born around October 1, 2014 and is currently about 15 pounds. PUPPIES: Young puppies that haven't had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center at our weekend ... (Read More)adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application, and if approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come get the dog and bring them home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vaccinated. NOTE: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership, K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted and altered. Rescue Me ID: 15-03-27-00383Mollie (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

For adoption information, please contact Stephanie Bacchi, Bullard, TX, 903/343-4364, or e-mail stephbny1@aol.com. Mollie is a courtesy posting, first posted on 1/7/14, and re-posted on 3/27/15. The mother of this puppy and two siblings was picked up by Smith County Animal Control, and was pulled out before getting euthanized. Mollie was adopted for about 10 months, and then she was returned around November 2014, due to the family moving. Mollie is spayed, current on vaccinations, on heartworm prevention, and is house trained. She is all White with some cream colored markings. Mollie is an inside dog, goes outside to potty and have ... (Read More)supervised play time, and must go to a home that will provide the same environment she is used to. Mollie needs a home that will be willing to continue to work on her manners and help set boundaries, and a home where she will be either an only dog or another dog her size as she can be rather rambunctious and likes to play a lot (She has been around dogs and cats, and will chase the cats as well, but hasn't hurt them.), so she may not be good around small children due to her energy level, but is good around older children. Mollie will chase goats/livestock on a fence line at first, but once she gets used to them being there, she will leave them alone (we have 2 miniature goats here). She loves her people, wants to be right there beside them, and will crawl up in your lap if given the chance. She is an active dog, so please keep that in mind when considering Mollie. There will be a home check done, and an adoption application to be filled out with a vet reference that will be checked. Mollie was born October 31, 2014, and weighs 49.5 pounds. (Less)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Passed around to a few different fosters, it seemed no one really wanted Barry to stay around. He'd had a tough case of mange, and although he was healing up, no one could see past his crusted skin and missing hair. Finally he landed with a foster who knew that Barry just needed a little bit to return to his handsome self, and so she held on to him tight. Now that he's all cleared up, Barry can find his last stop- his forever home! While it might seem like Barry is shy, it's only because he's trying to discover what kind of treats you may be hiding. When we say Barry is food motivated, well let's just say he'll do quite a bit for the right ... (Read More)treat. A little cuddle bug, he loves to sit right next to you while you scratch behind his ears or under his chin. Barry does great with other dogs and doesn't mind cats. He loves kids too! Smart as a tack, Barry is learning sit, leash walking, house training and crate training too! He'll have it all down in no time- want to see? Fill out your application for Barry today! (Less)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lola came from a very restrictive home with little exercise, interaction, nor outside time. She was rehomed, and has made remarkable progress. The current owner finds she does not have time to exercise her enough & is seeking to place her in a home that can give her what she needs-room to play and a 'job' to do. Lola is fully vetted, spayed, current on heart worm & flea & tick medications. She knows her basic commands and is very affectionate. Lola would do best with in a one dog home, however with supervision is fine with other dogs.

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-15-00014Bailey (male)

Border Collie    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Bailey: 4 yrs; Activity Level: Companion/Active Companion; B/W Rough Coat; Weight: 38 lbs still gaining a few. An email was sent out 'Free Border Collie Please Take Him', thankfully the owners of his half-brother had enough faith in themselves and their BC to dive in head first and take on this challenge emailing back yes done. Can you imagine how many others got the same email and would not have been able to give Bailey a chance no matter what background he came from? Well he is on to his next journey in life and has become a confident pup no longer allowed to run loose on a golf course with his mind all a blur-now he does tricks, takes ... (Read More)walks in varied areas, plays with toys inside and enjoys the play/companionship of the smaller dogs in his foster home. What we know about Bailey is that he was missing that human interaction at some point in his life his male owner took his own life and things must have been very shaky before. Bailey has settled in his suburban foster home, finally in a crate that is his size, has a lovely break with his foster mom during her long work day, has his toy time and his daily walks. He is quite comfortable having all of the attention paid to him but has learned to wait and work for things in the home so he earns the love and affection. Bailey waits for his meals now, knows sit and down, plays hide and seek with his people, likes learning about squeaky toys and ball play inside the home; has learned the 'look at me' for focus inside the home and on leash. All of the tricks he is learning has helped build his confidence that he can also transfer when he is on leash. Bailey is available for Foster to Adopt/Adoptive home as he does enjoy his daily walks, he does not need jogging or anything extensive but would enjoy being with his person doing so. He is best suited in a home with smaller dogs that share the affection of their owners and would like to play a little with him maybe just snuggle on the bed or as an only dog. We have seen Bailey do great with dogs his size that are nonchalant, he can feel challenged by dogs his size possibly he has had a few scuffles in his past. He is still healing from some nervousness of the new and exposing him on walks to different places is really helping him. Bailey's back is a little curved most likely from nutrition and crating too small and he is adding a raw diet of meat and veggies to his kibble to build a strong physical foundation and he will receive additional help from specialist for this as he rebuilds his shape. An ideal home for her would have some quiet between neighbors; fence is mandatory and no apartments or condos; children 10 and up only as this can be too intense to this Border Collie; an excited human partner to share his life with and continue on his recovery path; a human interactive break during a long work day (dog walker/home for lunch) would be great for him. Bailey's fully vetted, crate and house trained walks nicely on the leash. His adoption donation is $275 there is an application to adopt and home visit where applicable. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-14-00023Winston (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Winston: 8 months-1 yr; Activity Level: Companion/Active Companion; B/W Smooth Short Haired Coat; Border Collie possibly w Aussie. Winston was a pup on the loose in Alief Houston just darting between a few streets where he obviously was left behind. It took a team of kind people one month to earn his trust and follow them into a large fenced area so he could be rescued! Yes trust for Winston is HUGE, he does best in an apartment or condo-less space for him to be nervous and anticipate any expectations from people. This pup has a story that has left behind scaring on his hind legs most likely from a stake in the ground and rope as he was ... (Read More)a growing puppy he must have twisted himself so badly creating these scares and some laxity in his hind legs that we are rebuilding through diet and supplementation. Winston doesn't want to be an outside dog anymore he is actually quite happy tossing toys in the air in his fosters apartment and coming over for a kiss while she is studying; cuddling up with his BC foster sibling; his daily walks and even some light jogging; and has learned how to relax for car rides. He has totally overcome fears of when his foster mom or roommate lift their feet they are not going to kick him or push him and the same is true for any reaching of their arms or body movement. Winston has only been in foster care for just a few months, he really has enjoyed the trust and teaching of touch and human movements from his foster; he no longer tries to flea on the leash and can walk gently now; likes to play with dogs; and has been introduced to strangers who come to visit and take him for a walks as well. Overall this boy is gently moving forward in life. Winston is looking for a Foster to Adopt/Adoptive Home that can continue this trust in the home and with people. We are uncertain of his recall for a doggie park and will be starting to evaluate that and train for fun and safety. An ideal home for Winston is an apartment or condo; a human interactive break during a long work day (dog walker/home for lunch); children 6 and up that are gentle and appreciate a soft pup; daily walks and toy time inside the home and he is a happy pup! He is house trained, leash trained, prefers the floor to a crate, will be neutered when he is stronger in his hind legs within rescue vetting services $300 adoption donation or on a neuter contract $225. There is an application to fill out and home visit if applicable. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-12-00321Brie (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Brie: 10 Months; Sex: Female; Activity Level: Active Companion; B/W Rough Coated Border Collie/Aussie; Weight 30 lbs. Were you looking for a pup that can be your entire world and trust life through your direction on the leash? That is what Brie is looking for: bright eyed playful, cuddly bouncy petite girl about 13 inches-with a soft smile and loads of charm desiring full trust in people as she aims to please is available for Foster to Adopt or Adoptive Home. She is a special treasure that was not going to allow previous fears on the leash and being confused with sounds and movements hold her back from a real life-she wants more than ... (Read More)just playing in the yard and she deserves it! Brie really LOVES balls and toys; strong desire to retrieve/give and run and herd her pack mates and that happy bark when doing so; finds so much freedom in swimming and turned into a fish like her siblings her 2nd trip to a park (in her video) at the quieter hours; jump on the couch with you and enjoy a fun chat and lap love; loves to ride in the car. Her leash life lessons have been stunted from fears in early puppy stages and her life before rescue amplifying her sound sensitivity and reaction to movements. Remember she is a herder these traits are so true for the breed. For me I love to earn undivided trust through the leash and that is what Brie is getting and she is gaining a confident foundation to her lessons. Example of a lesson: Brie can now start her walk right out my door (unless too much activity then we drive), using the clicker to mark positive behavior and calm she also does down and recall other tricks on the leash to keep the focus. If there is activity in front of us we may cross the street before-hand and or make a U-turn in a drive way or push on through it doing tricks keeping a steady calm nature for Brie and identify what we see and move on so as not to fixate on fear of unknown variables. Example: on a walk there was a loose Schnauzer out front of its house, she loves dogs of course, and I went over with her about ringing the doorbell for the puppy and it's mommy may talk to us, she was very calm and there were no other outside factors at that time all very happy-as we moved along our walk two people came around a corner a bit unexpected she got scared but worked with me and the command is 'done'. It's all about the trust down the leash for Brie. 2/9 Example: Quiet trail walk at Sugarland Memorial Park: Brie did great with the big lawn mowers doing tricks for focus and calm, saw a jogger fear barked as he was 'coming at us' then she wanted to herd him!, did great with me talking to someone from a distance and let me know she was ready to move on. I am highly observant of our environment to anticipate anything necessary creating a positive and safe environment. Brie can handle activity on the street and it's important for her to have this but if it's too much at once, or right in front of her she feels threatened possibly boxed it like it's coming 'at her', progressing daily with this, and cars used to scare her so much just the vibration she was in total fear of being injured. She is looking for someone who works from home that has the time to dedicate to more lessons for a healthy living; an approved trainer maybe needed to continue this work in her environment please be aware of the commitment you are making to her. Fortunate for Brie and her littermates I was able make a full commitment at 11 weeks of age building a foundation allowing Brie to find her true self. Brie and her sister did move from a foster to my rescue/training house at 4 months of age. This was an accidental litter Border Collie mom and Aussie dad surrendered to rescue. Coming from a rural raising with limited human interaction things in the world are still new and take time to learn and trust. With my desire to build a strong physical foundation and the lack of proper nutrition she has been on a raw meat/fresh veggies diet along and quality kibble. An ideal home for her would have some quiet between neighbors; fence is mandatory and no apartments or condos; children 10 and up only as this can be too intense to this Border Collie; a dedicated human partner to enjoy life with; having her human and pup pack to bond with. Brie's adoption donation is $275. There is an application to adopt and home visit where applicable. She is crate/house trained; fully vetted/chipped/on preventative, clicker and enjoys whistle training. ******I believe you have to see the world as a dog does and thus training began at home on all the new and unknown variables through identification, clicker and positive food motivated exercises; learning redirection to sounds and stimuli in the yard/home and life on the leash; coached on dog interactions to strengthen the leadership skills; working through all fears in the home and on the leash using the clicker method to achieve a healthy action/reaction (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-12-00288Sky (female)

Border Collie    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sky: 2-3 months; Sex: Female; Activity Level: Active Companion/Sports Potential; B/W Rough Coated Border Collie; Weight: 18 lbs expected 40 lbs. I know very little about Sky's history except that she was left in the backyard of a great Samaritan dog momma's yard at roughly 5-6 weeks old coming into rescue at 6-7 weeks. My guess is people love this breed but do not realize what they are getting into: smart=challenge and teach me. Sky has already been introduced to lots of socialization both human and dogs and she handles the dogs in her rescue foster home very well and has done well in a busier house; she is really learning patience; and ... (Read More)gives clear signals of how she is thinking. She has done fine around well-mannered children; takes to new things easily once taught and she understands it and yes she does want to know what it is she is learning; she does play with a variety of balls/toys and is learning to bring them back to me; she loves to herd the other ball dogs and uses her bark to do so; she has enjoyed swimming at the lake following the other pups lead, rides well in the car; loves hugs and kisses, is house and crate trained. Sky is wicked sponge for more, a very biddable pup when working excellent eye contact always with a sit. After her lessons she likes to create her own games with balls and using her nose-she likes the thinking fun, takes to direction well and really needs to her human to stay a step ahead of her. Her leash lessons out the front door are fun for her she loves to meet strangers; do tricks with the clicker; is understanding her environment and enjoying it all. If you're looking for an agility, search and rescue, pet therapy, or obedience dog to work with she has a strong nerve of confidence and is almost in a roll over for a down or a great partner to enjoy life with and have fun doing so! She has a nice positive energy confidence, really likes to play and loves to use herding eye and other herding positions for play and sass the dogs into playing with her. Sky does enjoy down time outside and she likes to play with a toys in the yard, stick or bone or relaxing on my deck for her own private time. She has learned what she missed not being with her littermates and really enjoys connecting with the pack as well as with me. I would like her to continue to have doggie socialization in her forever home and even better if there is another engaging pup in the home. Holding out for love, excitement in life, a great coach, easily trainable and ready for more Sky is available for Foster to Adopt or Adoptive Home. She will need a home with children 8 and up, fence is mandatory, no apartment or condos at this time, would love to have some space between neighbors, continued dog play; great fun exercise in AM and PM and a human interactive break during a long work day (dog walker/home for lunch); an excited human partner to share her life with. There is an application to fill out, home visit is preferred, her adoption donation is $275 with applicable vetting for her age on a spay contract till 6-9 months of age or with Houston rescue services $325. Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Katey: 10 Months; Sex: Female; Activity Level: Active Companion/Sports Potential; B/W Rough Coated Border Collie/Aussie; Weight 30 lbs. Were you looking for a fast/fun 15 inch pixie gal to join you in life and explore new heights? Introducing Katey a vivacious happy energetic pup available for Foster to Adopt/Adoptive Home, living life to its full extent she is quite inquisitive and eager to learn and try new things or as we say around the house 'ready set go Katey!' Katey will dance on her hind legs for a treat or your gloves her favorite thing to steal of mine lol! She gives gentle kisses but when she is excited it's time to play some ... (Read More)ball/take a walk and then go watch a movie or snuggle. She is very light on her feet and makes great turns weather playing ball with me or games of chase with another herder in the home-excellent candidate for fly ball or similar fun at home. She is very eager on leash and likes this as great focus type 'job' of course with a few tricks to go along; very attentive to my footing which is great on a hike; redirects easily; she is highly interested about bicycles might be a fun path for her. Katey is a highly trainable girl that is becoming very social to strangers enjoying the praise and seeking out positive energy; has an innate sense with dogs and she loves to play with dogs; very biddable eager to please; took to swimming at a park like a fish on her first trip and of course she really loves her ball and toys! She is a sensitive girl and it's important for her to show you different ways that mean the same thing but work better for her. A toy basket would make this pup feel like a queen. Fortunate for Katey and her littermates I was able make a full commitment at 11 weeks of age building a foundation of trust allowing Katey to find her true self. This was an accidental litter Border Collie mom and Aussie dad surrendered to rescue. Coming from a rural raising with limited human interaction things in the world are still new and take time to learn and trust. Katey and her sister Brie were more BC sensitive than the foster home could handle moving to rescue/training/foster home at 4 months. With my desire to build a strong physical foundation and the lack of proper nutrition has been on a raw meat/fresh veggies diet and quality kibble. An ideal home for her would have some quiet between neighbors; fence is mandatory and no apartments or condos; children 10 and up only as this can be too intense to this Border Collie; great fun exercise in AM and PM and a human interactive break during a long work day (dog walker/home for lunch); an excited human partner to share her life with. Katey's adoption donation is $325. There is an application to adopt and home visit where applicable. She is crate/house trained; fully vetted/chipped/on preventative, clicker and enjoys whistle training. ****I believe you have to see the world as a dog does and thus Katey's training began at home on all the new and unknown variables through identification, clicker and positive food motivated exercises. Leash trained in scenic social human and pup neighborhoods; historic areas of Houston for stimulation within a city; walking trails and bike trails, mini hike in areas that are socially oriented but also very peaceful; running errands with me and carpooling with another dog learning patience in the car and wait for the one on one lessons; learning redirection to sounds and stimuli in the yard/home and life on the leash; coached on dog interactions to strengthen the leadership skills; working through all fears in the home and on the leash using the clicker method to achieve a healthy action/reaction; using the curious nature to enjoy all the smells at pet store and feel positive at the vets office.****** (Less)

We need to re home him because we have a chain fence which he is climbing recently to chase chickens at adjacent farm. We couldn't take our eyes off of this silly and playful pup, so off to SNIPSA he went. A little shy at first, Colin warmed up pretty quickly, especially when the kids of his foster family showed up. Now it's just a matter of finding the home that will keep him forever! At first glance Colin is not only a handsome guy, but he's also quiet. Colin is going to be a bigger guy when he's fully grown so he'll need a little space where he can burn off all of his energy, but for an active family or a family who has a buddy for him, Colin will be an awesome new family member!     **COURTESY POST** Pretty, silky Ebony is one of two remaining foster dogs from a litter of nine born October 5, 2011, to a sweet black Lab found extremely pregnant; her mom was adopted within months of weaning her pups. We believe Ebony's daddy is probably a border collie. Ebony weighs around 65-70 pounds, and is very playful and active; of all her litter-mates, she most looks like her mother. She does have storm anxiety and needs to be close to her humans as storms approach; she calms next to ... (Read More)you. She also loves to snuggle during quiet times, too. Ebony is leash and crate trained, up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, heartworm free, and microchipped. She also does well with children; small children and large dogs typically don't match well. Ebony will do best with the company of another dog in a home with a secure fenced yard. Is your family and home the right match for this sweet girl?     My girlfriend and I are looking for a good home for our awesome dog. He is just over a year old and NOT fixed. He is a very high energy dog so fixing him would probably be a good thing, however, we both don't have time nor the space for him anymore and need some time without him to figure out a good thing for him. What we would really like: While we get our situation figured out and continue on, we want to be able to see him from time to time and check in on him and potentially get him back a few months down the road. This is of course an IDEAL situation and we can speak about it when we meet and as time goes on. We would love to see him ... (Read More)somewhere with a good sized yard, maybe even a house with another dog for companionship. He does need some solid attention and play-time/exercise. Could be a good dog for the Spring/Summer for kids. He is a very sweet dog and only wants to play and have fun. Can be mischievous at times, but all pets can be of course. Doesn't bite or scratch, barks when he feels threatened but warms up to everyone very well. Loves to be outdoors and falls asleep quickly when inside. Tends to be extra calm around children and younger kids, he seems to be curious to their size and height compared to him. As stated, I would like to have the option to get him again and be able to check in on him. He is our first dog together and we think of him as our child and want the best for him. He truly is a great dog and pet and friend and we will certainly miss him. Time is of the essence, we need to find something by March 1st so if interested please contact me ASAP and we can set up a meeting this week. Thank you for your interest and time. (Less)

Storm is a year and a half old Border Collie that I took in as a foster until the dog rescue could take him. He was adopted out but was brought back because his needs were more then they could handle and the adoption organization is not wanting him and not helping. He is not aggressive toward my four other dogs...two cocker spaniels one male and one female, and two male border collies but he does play rough and needs to be supervised. He is treat motivated and has learned to sit, stay, down, shake, play dead, say hi,look back and bows. He is food aggressive so I feed him by himself..once he is done he has no problem. He can get to possessive ... (Read More)of a toy with other dogs so I play with him alone when there is a toy involved. I have not started him in agility but I do believe he would be awesome in that sport. I have had him introduced to herding and he needs a lot of training with a long line...the herding trainer has worked him off the long line. He has a lot of drive to herd. He is current on all his shots, has been neutered. He would make a great companion for a jogger who will keep him on leash while in training...I believe the sky in the limit for any sports with this young man. No small kids and any kid that feeds him needs to walk away while he eats or just crate him while he eats. He has never spent a night outside and does well lying on the rug at night in the same room I am in. He is crate trained, to this date he will not dart out of the crate when opening. I would crate him in a vehicle. He is a sweet young guy who still needs a lot of training. (Less)

ARNT has had Princess and her son Patch since early April. They were found wandering a road where dogs are dumped on a regular basis. We believe her to be a border collie- dachshund or corgi mix, about 2-3 years old and she weighs approximately 28 lbs. Both dogs were micro chipped and we were able to locate their owner. She surrendered them to us because they kept escaping from the yard and chased the neighbors chickens and was fearful they are the ones who took them and dropped them off where we found them. Princess stays in an outdoor kennel along with Patch on a lady's property who lives on the road where we picked them up so we have ... (Read More)not had a chanced to test her 'house training skills'. She is super sweet as well as cute and her favorite thing to do is roll around in the grass. We learned that there were children in her former home so know she is good with kids as well as adults. She is a moderate barker but not an aggressive one. Her adoption fee is $200 and a home visit is part of her adoption process to insure there is a secure fence around the home, therefore she is available for adoption in the immediate DFW area only. If you think she might be a good match for your household, please email us for a pre adoption questionnaire which is the first step in the adoption process. Once the questionnaire is reviewed and looks like a good match, we can schedule a meet and greet for you to interact with her on a personal level. (Less)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

ARNT has had Patch and his mom Princess since early April. They were found wandering a road where dogs are dumped on a regular basis. We believe him to be a border collie- corgi or dachshund mix, about 1 1/2 years old and he weighs approximately 27 lbs. Both dogs were micro chipped and we were able to locate their owner. Both dogs were micro chipped and we were able to locate their owner. She surrendered them to us because they kept escaping from the yard and chased the neighbors chickens and was fearful they are the ones who took them and dropped them off where we found them and might do it again. Patch is current on vaccinations, ... (Read More)neutered and is now on monthly heart worm prevention. He stays in an outdoor kennel along with Princess on a lady's property who lives on the road where we picked them up so we have not had a chanced to test his 'house training skills'. He is super sweet as well as cute and one of his favorite things to do is roll around in the grass. We learned that there were children in his former home so know he is good with kids as well as adults. He is a moderate barker but not an aggressive one. His adoption fee is $150 which is a lot less than the money we have invested for his heart worm treatment and vaccinations. A home visit is part of his adoption process to insure there is a secure fence around the home, therefore he is available for adoption in the immediate DFW area only. If you think he might be a good match for your household, please email us for a pre adoption questionnaire which is the first step in the adoption process. Once the questionnaire is reviewed and looks like a good match, we can schedule a meet and greet for you to interact with him on a personal level. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Collie in Texas
Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
