Hey there my name is Flash; I'm a really good boy most of the time. I have spent several months in what they call a pound, finally a nice lady took me home to be a foster dog (that just means I can live with her until I find my own family) I didn't care at least I didn't have to keep worrying about my name going on that euthanasia list anymore, which must be a really bad thing. I forgot to tell you how I got into that place to began with, I lived with my family since I was 8 weeks old, I loved them very much but I did something bad when the little one tried to stick his head in the bowl with me, I snapped at him, yeah it was a stupid mistake ... (Read More)but that's how I got in jail. I can be kind of Grumpy with other dogs, so maybe just bring them to meet me first. I think my ideal home would be in a home with one laid back female dog or better yet to be the only dog!!! Please help me find my forever home. I promise I won't let you down. Callie is a 5 year old Cattle Dog/ Border Collie Mix that was saved from a shelter in WVA along with her 2 puppies. Callie and her family were very scared when they first came into foster. Callie has warmed up to life in her foster home, and enjoys sleeping on the couch. She is even starting to wag her tail and show interest in her foster brothers and sisters, a huge stride! Loves every person and dog he meets; very playful. We've had him since August when we adopted him as a 10 month old stray, but unfortunately he has had moderate-severe separation anxiety since we got him. We have tried everything we could afford to do to help him, but we've decided the only thing that could help would be living with at least one other dog so he would never truly have to be alone (we cannot currently afford to have more than one dog at once). Also, we live in an apartment, and while he hasn't gotten bored to the point of tearing everything up, he would do much better in a home with a yard or even a farm (we didn't know at ... Sampson is approx 2 yr and weighs approx 50-60 lbs. He enjoys being petted and loved on. He is good w/young children, not sure about cats. Alert and attentive. Intelligent. Still pulls some when on leash. Rescued from a high kill shelter after being found as a stray. No evidence of abuse in his behavior. Would be great hiking/jogging companion! Working on housetraining. Border Collie Dogs can make good pets in Virginia if they match your IifestyIe. Border Collies are extremely intelligent, faithful dogs who live to please their masters. Border Collies need lots of attention and praise. They respond to high level obedience training and make excellent Frisbee dogs and farm workers. Border Collies do well in large yards or with acreage and they need a job to do. If a Border Collie becomes bored, he will find his own job to do and it may not be the owner's idea of work. Border Collies do well with older children and other dogs, and some Border Collies can coexist with cats. However, it depends on the dog, and generally Border Collies should not be trusted with non-canine pets.
