Shelby has a wonderful new home. She was adopted by a woman who has a 250 acre working ranch with cattle, goats, chickens, ducks, geese, dogs, and cats. Her primary job will be herding the goats once she 'learns the ropes'. Our role in Shelby's journey was ultimately to remove her from a suburban shelter and 'foster' her. She was surrendered by her original owners at 11 months old. Over a two and a half week period, she was adopted twice. The first time was one day, the second time was 12 days! She was physically full grown but still a puppy. She was a 'chewer' and needed constant supervision or crating. This was most likely the reason she was originally surrendered and returned twice. We don't know what her fate would have been if the adopt/return cycle continued. Great progress was made during our stewardship of Shelby. She was in obedience training and was progressing well in the adult classes. She had not become an 'honest' dog yet as she would not come when I called her so this meant she was always on a lead or restrained in some way. And unfortunately, our five year old cat (another shelter rescue) could not resolve their incompatibility (she's a runner so would never stand her ground and smack Shelby on the nose). We are so happy that Shelby now has a great home where she will have the job she was bred to do - herding livestock instead of toys. One of her Border Collie companions is about 12 and a good herder but getting tired. The other Border Collie is two, but does not have the herding instinct. We could tell that she will have a great time in her new home. And her new caretaker is an active supporter of the local no-kill shelter.

Bradley finally found his forever loving home with a wonderful, single lady who needed a companion. Bradley immediately showed her so much love. He is a tripod, deaf 50 pound Smooth Coat Border Collie with a big heart. I'm so happy for him, it took a long time to find the right home, but the wait was worth it. Thank you, Rescue Me!

This cute girl was pulled from the shelter along with her four siblings after being found running in the street together. She is a sweet and happy little girl and deserving of everything great that comes her way. Thanks to Rescue Me, we had an application for her within days of posting her photo. We hope for the same reaction for her siblings soon!

We are so grateful that Nellie found a new home thanks to Rescue Me! We 'inherited' her after my brother had a major stroke, but she was not a great fit with the other dogs. We were just not able to give her the attention she wanted and deserved. It took a few weeks, but a lovely lady and her son found her on your site and decided she was a good fit. She is doing well there and getting a lot of attention - happy ending! Thank you!

Thanks to Rescue Me for providing this connection which made it very easy to find Tyson. Thanks also to Rachel and her family for allowing us to adopt him. We are very pleased with Tyson. He has adapted very well to his new environment. He is a very sweet dog and has made friends with our two dogs. We walk and hike every day, and play ball and frisbee. He is smart and has learned the 'house rules' very quickly and his new friends, Cassie and Lili have taught him the outside rules. I think he will find lots of love and attention here. Thanks and Namaste. -Janice Anderson

We finally found Nellie a great new home! She is a low activity senior and found a new family with other senior dogs to hang out with. We are so grateful to this wonderful website! My brother was brokenhearted that he had to give her up due to a stroke, but finding a home makes it so much better. We couldn't bear to take her to a shelter. Thank you Rescue Me! We were so happy to make a donation of thanks!

My sister was trying to find a home for her girl, Callie, and neither of us had any idea of how to approach this. We wanted to find a reputable, safe website to post her information on and found Rescue Me in the process. Thanks to all of you guys! That very night, I was getting countless emails and texts and phone calls about Callie, wanting to adopt her. I can happily confirm that after four days of having her posted for adoption, Callie has a new home!!

When I saw Buddy, I knew God had answered my prayers. I have not had my own dog since I lost my Sooner (Border Collie) over 40 years ago. I have not been able to fill the void in my heart until I saw Buddy's picture. He is so smart and loving. My husband and I have fallen head over heals in love with Buddy. Thank you, Angie and Rescue Me!

Thank you, Rescue Me, for helping us with the re-homing of our beloved Cody when we could no longer keep him. Thanks to you, we found a wonderful new home for him and also received many inquiries from other interested families. Not only that, but a volunteer agreed to provide a foster home if he was not adopted soon. Rescue Me went above and beyond. Their kindness to animals and to us along with their top-notch organization and speedy outreach provide a testament to the very best in our community. We can feel assured that Cody is in a wonderful place, thanks to this admirable agency.

Chance was rescued from an animal control shelter, where he had been for over three months. We had received word that he was scheduled for euthanasia within two weeks when our rescue was made. After two repostings on Rescue Me, a couple approximately 150 miles away asked if Chance was still available. We met at a half-way point where Chance met his new owners. As former ranch owners, they now have eight acres of land for Chance to run with another canine, along with a few horses. Last word, Chance is enjoying the good life, running and playing to his heart's content. This spring he will be trained to help on the land, as the couple's son is a rodeo circuit rider and was looking for a companion to help with the horses and be a travel companion.

I posted Ranger on Rescue Me around noon. I got a phone call around 6:30 pm the same day asking if I still have Ranger. I said, 'yes I do'. It sounded too good to be true. Ranger will be at his new home nine days later in a wonderful new home with a family that is going to rehab him and spoil him rotten. I couldn't ask for anyone better for Ranger. I'm looking forward to keeping in touch with his progress. This family also worked very hard on Ranger's transportation to get him there. I would just like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to Rescue Me This wouldn't have been possible without you!! Sincerely, Sherri

I just want to cry my eyes out. We have found a new forever home for Ellie through Rescue Me. I am so selfish to be heartbroken because I know that finding her a new home is the correct thing to do, but I have always been the rescuer so this side of things is so bittersweet. She will be moving north to be with a lady named Kristie who will take Ellie with her on horseback rides and walks and agility training. My hope is that she will grow to love her new owner and learn to be a healthy, happy, occupied border collie. Thank you, Rescue Me, for helping me find her a home where she will have opportunities that we were unable to give her!

Tipper, what a youngster! Volunteering at our city shelter, I am overwhelmed at the number of dogs that come into our shelter as strays or owner turn-ins. Tipper came in as a stray and had been there about two weeks. It was her first day in the adoption area. I decided to walk every dog in that area. After walking two, I leashed Tipper and began to walk the loop behind the shelter. Coming around the last turn, she began to kick a back leg. Thinking it was a thorn, I checked. Finding nothing, I turned back to retrace my steps. In the middle of the path was a coiled snake, in strike position. Immediately taking her back to the shelter, there were still no indications on her back paw that she was bitten. After about five minutes, two small drops of blood appeared. Knowing that this was not good for her future, I was devastated. A friend who heads a local rescue just happened to come in. After finding out what happened, she said her group would pay for the vet visit. Having just adopted our last foster, I was going to take a break, but how could I not help Tipper? (I named her 'Tipper' for the white tip on her tail.) I placed her on Rescue Me. After a week of recovery, the vet said no more treatment was necessary. Evidently, it was a rat snake and just caused a nasty infection. Within five days, I had three inquiries about her from Rescue Me. A woman with two young children came to visit with Tipper, fell in love with her, and Tipper is now in a new home, doing wonderfully. Being a border collie mix, she has the inclination to nip, but the woman has had border collies and knows to correct. They continue to love her and enjoy her personality. Tipper and their older Yorkie even get along and play together. I am, always moved by acts of providence in adoptions. In a public shelter, the numbers of animals are always more than the kennels to house them. If I had not decided to walk her for the first time, had the snake not bitten her, had a rescue not paid for her initial treatment, had our shelter officers not had compassionate hearts, and had I not fostered her, she very well might not have been there today. AND, had Rescue Me not been a site that can move pets into great homes, Tipper would not be living in a great home, where she will grow with the children and have a great, new life. Thanks, again, Rescue Me!

Through sharing Bella's story, I was able to find a family who immediately fell in love with Bella and adopted her. She now has two human parents, a human sister, and two canine siblings with a fenced-in yard to run. She needed this so badly! I was getting the run around from all the local rescues, most of them telling me to take her to shelters, which are all overcrowded and full to the max. So glad someone referred me to this site. Now Bella has a wonderful home. Thank you. I am referring Rescue Me like crazy!

It took some time for it to happen, but having used Rescue Me successfully before, I kept hoping and sure enough, a woman vet contacted me and now Puppy has a wonderful new home! I am so happy to have her placed in a much better home than I was able to provide her and now my own dogs are happy to have more time with their 'mama', without the interference of a 'rascally puppy'! This website has been an invaluable resource to me and I appreciate so much your being there that I tell everyone about it! I thank God and Rescue Me every day!

I had a one-year-old Border Collie. I had a lot of changes in my life, during which she was an awesome emotional support, but in order to gain some stability for myself, I ended up in a very small space in the middle of town. She was a trooper about going for walks and learning to stay in a crate in between, but it was no life for a talented, hard-working, energetic farm dog. I put her on Rescue Me's border collie page, and immediately had about five inquiries. I'm happy to say that I found just the situation I was looking for with a couple who have a large piece of land, animals to herd and a great deal of experience and love for Border Collies. I feel like she will have more the kind of life she was born to live. Thanks so much!

We just adopted our beautiful girl, Bella (thanks to this website!) from a family who unfortunately could not keep her anymore. They actually got her a year ago from an animal shelter and although she's understandably nervous, she is coping well with her new family. We have three other dogs and she drives the Westie nuts by running interference when he tries to run for his tennis ball!!! I was looking to get a Border Collie puppy, but when I saw the picture of her on this website and knew we would be in the area in a few days, we had to go see her. We took the Westie to meet her and they got on great immediately. Me? Well, she growled and barked loudly to 'protect' her house for us, but the wagging tail was a giveaway!!!! As I type this, she's under my office table by my side. It's us that feels very fortunate to have found Bella!!! Thank you Jeff for hosting this site and all the work you have done. I hope my little donation will help. Thanks again, Rescue Me.

Bella was rescued from a kill shelter. When she arrived following an eleven hour truck ride in a cage, she was scared, thin and dehydrated and had undergone surgery only the day before. My home turned out to be a second foster home for her where Bella began learning how to enjoy a toy and romp in a backyard. She warmed up quickly to her temporary home enjoying two square meals a day and the opportunity to sleep beside her mom and dad at night. Rescue Me was the avenue by which Bella found a forever home with a wonderful couple who has had lots of experience with high energy Border Collies. At last check she has settled into a life of fun and leisure...sprinkled with lots of love. My thanks to your website for helping to give Bella a renewed chance for happiness.

Thank you Rescue Me! One month after we rescued a sweet, high-energy girl who needed lots of time and attention, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The prognosis is excellent, but the process would be months and we wouldn't have the time to spend working with our doggie. We also did not have a lot of time to find her a new home before chemo started. I found the Rescue Me website, posted, and within two days we had offers from two different, absolutely wonderful homes whose references were excellent. Her new family drove six hours to pick her up one day, and back the next and she is so happy in her new home. Not only that, but they are sending us updates and have offered to let us bring our kids to visit her next time we are in their town. Thank you so much for facilitating this beautiful adoption. We could not be happier!

Bailey is in a transition period. She is very nervous with change of any kind. We not only found the perfect home for her, but also a kind hearted new owner who is willing to take the time to adopt her so that Bailey can get used to her new surroundings. We are actually doing play dates for about two weeks so that she is totally comfortable with the transition into her new home. This is the best of both worlds for Bailey, she can take time getting used to her new family and pulling away from her old family. She will have room to run and farm animals to play with! Who could ask for more? I am so glad that we posted her on Rescue Me.

Bonnie is a gorgeous, super smart Border Collie-Siberian Husky mix, rescued from the streets. She narrowly missed getting killed in traffic on the street where she was found. I was unable to keep her because I was over the dog limit in the city. Only two weeks (!!!!) after posting her picture on Rescue Me, her and her doggie friend Clyde, were BOTH adopted by an amazing woman who will treat them as if they were her children! Kim will give them the ultimate BEST FOREVER home for them, as her current dogs are 12, 13, and 14 years old!! She takes her dogs running in the mountains and the desert!! This will be perfect, especially for Bonnie, who needs a really really active home!!!! I'm super thrilled, and can't thank Rescue Me enough. These dogs would have had to go to the shelter if it weren't for Rescue Me. It WAS A PERFECT FIT FOR BOTH THE DOGS AND THE ADOPTER!!!!!! Yeah!!!!! BY THE WAY: a REALLY great picture is a HUGE help to get your special doggy placed quickly!! Bonnie and Clyde had had digital pictures taken, which helped immensely!

Rescue Me has been an excellent source to work with. We posted Carly for adoption and had several great responses and with us doing the work of screening and reference checking we choose a family that she fits perfectly in. We loved having the ability to screen and talk with the potential owner and choose who we thought she was the best fit for and build a relationship with her new family. Thank you Rescue Me for providing a free service and supporting finding our fur babies homes!

Minnie found a new home within days of posting here on Rescue Me. Her new owners said they were drawn to her post because she looked so much like their Border Collie, Christmas, that had passed recently. After reading her review and seeing that she had the same anxiety issues as their Christmas, they knew they had to meet her. I met up with them within a few days as they were traveling for their granddaughter's graduation. Minnie went to Brenda right away. She was a little skittish of her husband and son, but once they knelt down to her, she warmed up to them in minutes. We visited for about an hour going over her quirks, likes, dislikes, etc. They wanted her! We loaded her up in their SUV with all her goodies and I gave my Minnie a good-bye kiss. Minnie has gone to a 'fur' ever home where she will get 24/7 attention and have the run of the house! I'm very blessed to have found such a wonderful family for her. It would not have been possible without this website.

My dogs Keisha and Cubby passed away this past Fall after almost 16 years. I miss them so and wasn't sure I was ready to get another dog. While sitting at my computer one day, I did a search for rescue dogs and came upon 'Rescue Me'. I was quickly impressed with the way the website itself was set up. As I scrolled through the pictures, I saw a sweet little female dog named Allanah, that looked so much like my Keisha. I thought long and hard about calling to inquire. A week later, I called the number and set up a time to go meet the dog. As soon as I saw her, I knew I had to have her. She came home with me and my nieces and a friend that day. I am so happy to have her in my life. I am so thankful to Cheryl at the shelter that cared for her. I am thankful that her life was spared and that my husband and I have been given a chance to give love and receive love from this beautiful little doll. Thank you to Rescue Me for all that you do to find loving homes for all of the furry children.

Rescue Me made it possible for me to find a great home for a dog who needed to be the number one dog in his own family. My family already had two dogs and Chance was always competing for first place attention and was never satisfied. His new country home has a family of four smiling faces, who were waiting for his arrival with his new collar with name and phone number, a fenced backyard, food waiting, and acres to roam around his new home. Now I am able to devote a better level of attention to my other two dogs so they do not feel neglected. Life has become much better for all of us. Thanks for the great website to bring dog lovers together and make life better for our devoted and faithful friends.

Hello Jeff, I cannot thank Rescue Me enough for finding me a Border Collie in a very short time. I had checked on other sites without any success. Your organization kept sending me updates weekly and we saw Lola. We adopted her from a great family. She is bonding with my wife and I, more and more every day. Thank you and your organization for a wonderful companion.

Thank you Rescue Me! for helping me find my beloved Riley a great new home. I love and miss Riley so much and would have loved nothing more than to keep him with me, but I couldn't. Thanks to Rescue Me!, I was able to find Riley a loving home. I enjoyed his company for the first part of his life and now the new adoptive family will enjoy his company for the rest of his life! I love you my sweet boy and always will. You will always have a special place in mommy's heart. I hope you like your new family as much as I do and I can only hope they will love you as much as I do.

On Saturday, Zoe went home with a wonderful lady. Deb had lost a companion in December and didn't realize how lonely she would be. She found Zoe on Rescue Me! and we began emailing back and forth. Deb came to our home to visit Zoe and fell in love. Zoe now will be able to visit with Debs mom and dad who live next door they share 5 acres of land and Zoe will have the run of the land. This was such an amazing answer to prayer. A wonderful loving fur baby needing a loving home and this was perfect. Thank you so much for all you do.

I've been very successful with prior rescued dogs in finding wonderful homes for them. Thank you, Rescue Me!, your website is awesome.

Kiley is a beautiful, sweet and smart girl who found her furever home on Rescue Me! She is living with a couple who really love and spoil her. She will be going to dog training, and her new owner might enroll her in agility as well. She would not have found this great home without Rescue Me!

Within two days of posting this pup, I was in contact with someone interested in him. I was so relieved because otherwise he would have been put to sleep. She took him on a trial basis and decided to keep him. He will now get the chance to live for as long as his pain is managed, which could be a year or much longer. I am so grateful to Rescue Me! because it would have broken my heart to put down such a sweet puppy.

Today we dropped off our beloved Border Collie, Finnegan at his new home. While it was with a heavy heart we had to surrender him, the family we found through Rescue Me! was nothing short of perfect. Knowing he will be living out his life chasing water fowl on the beach with new best friends softens the heartache. Thank you Rescue Me! for providing the platform to make this loving connection.

Patches was brought into the pound as a stray. She was found by Second Chance Rescue and sent to me as a possible foster. I accepted, as she only had a matter of days to find some way out before they euthanized her. She made the trip out to me, and stayed a while. Apartment living with three dogs was tough, but this beautiful baby was saved and that's what counts. She now has a home of her own, with her sister Cayenne and father Al. She was only days away from her impending doom, and is now in a home that will be hers.

I am so glad we found Rescue Me! We found this dog a month ago, and the last thing I wanted to do was take him to the pound. Within just a few hours of posting his picture on Rescue Me!, he found a new home. I hope he gets lots of love, and would like it if the new owner would keep us updated on how he's doing. I have to admit we got a little attached to him in that month of him being here.

Maggie was adopted today by a wonderful family. Maggie was rescued twice, the first time from a badly abusive home, then again after the second owners couldn't keep her. She stayed with me and my family for six months as I looked for a forever home for her. Then, a week ago, I found the Rescue Me! website and posted Maggie. I had three inquiries about her, and after talking to the last family I felt that they were the best for Maggie. My sons were sad to see Maggie go but know that she will be loved and cared for the way she needs to be. Thank you, Rescue Me!, for helping me find the perfect family for this special girl.

Buddy, the Border Collie who was dumped out near my place in the country, has found a new great home! His new owner fell for him first thing when he saw his post on Rescue Me! He said he'd been looking for one exactly like Buddy for quite awhile. He and his wife met me halfway and took the lucky dog home with them. I'm retired and not able to keep him; he deserved a better home than I could offer, so he has that now. He can run free, help with the livestock, and give doggy kisses to the ones who now love him and will care for him. Thank you so much for your help with finding him a home.

After owning a Border Collie/Husky mix for almost 16 years... there has been such an emptiness in our life and not a day went by that we didn't think about how much happiness that big guy brought to us. I am so happy to have found Luke.

I found Nikki on Rescue Me! in my search for a new puppy for our family. After reading her story we knew we had found our new family member. Nikki is a very sweet, beautiful angel, and if Heather had never posted Nikki on Rescue Me!, I would have missed the chance of a lifetime to find our wonderful new pet. We love her to death and the kids are her biggest focus. She checks on them all throughout the night about every twenty minutes in what we call her nightly rounds. Thank you, Rescue Me!, for providing her profile. And a really big thank you to Heather and family for giving us their beautiful angel to watch over our family. You couldn't have blessed my family more. Thank you!

Patches has a great success story. He was found wandering at a paper plant. One of the workers felt for him and tried to make him a family member. The man has an older dog that would not accept Patches. So poor baby was displaced yet again. We took Patches in and posted him on Rescue Me! We stated Patches needed a job. Within days of posting he had an offer. Come to Kansas and herd 700 to 800 head of Holstein cattle and a family to love him. Complete with grandchildren. Thanks to a nice truck driver headed that way, Patches had the 14 hour ride he needed to his new job and family. He is now in a loving home. Thanks for creating such a wonderful web site!
