Patches has a great success story. He was found wandering at a paper plant. One of the workers felt for him and tried to make him a family member. The man has an older dog that would not accept Patches. So poor baby was displaced yet again. We took Patches in and posted him on Rescue Me! We stated Patches needed a job. Within days of posting he had an offer. Come to Kansas and herd 700 to 800 head of Holstein cattle and a family to love him. Complete with grandchildren. Thanks to a nice truck driver headed that way, Patches had the 14 hour ride he needed to his new job and family. He is now in a loving home. Thanks for creating such a wonderful web site!      My border collie was adopted just a week ago using Rescue Me! He is very happy with an active 'nest buddy'. It took awhile but a home was found just 150 miles away. Thanks to Rescue Me! for keeping my post open. This resource is valuable in finding just the RIGHT home. I recommend this site to anyone who has an animal for adoption. Thanks again. Kay

Dear Jeff, the service was great. I placed a post in the middle of the night Monday and I received an email from someone early the next morning. Saffron was adopted that same day to a wonderful family who are willing to have me visit her anytime. They also have sent me pictures, and it looks like Saffron is adapting well to her new family. Rescue Me! came to my rescue during a time of crisis and I would recommend you highly. Thank you!

Praying about the decision to rehome Buster was difficult. Our family loves him and he loves us, but he didn't have a job to do (besides herd my kiddos around the yard). While he didn't have any major bad habits, it just became apparent to us he needed more space to run and a job to do. I posted Buster on Rescue Me! because I wanted him to have a home just right for his breed. A few days ago, I received an email from a very nice lady who seemed to fall in love with Buster's picture and bio. We spoke on the phone and made plans to meet. Buster related to her and her husband right away, and this couple seemed perfect for Buster, plus 25 acres to run around!!! I had a wonderful feeling about this couple and felt Buster would be very well loved and cared for. We waved goodbye with cheerful faces and had our little tears afterward, but knowing Buster is happy and in a good family is a great comfort! I hope to stay in touch and see some pictures soon. If things do not work out there, the plan is to bring Buster home and I will try again, but I really do not think I will need to do this. Thank you, Rescue Me! This site made a difficult process very positive!

Our Border Collie was a adopted on March 8th. I talked to different people through email and telephone calls. I am happy with the results of Rescue Me! I am so glad that our dog went to someone who I felt was a really good match for her, and she was adopted and did not have to go to the shelter and possibly be put to sleep. I know that she will be so much happier there as she settles in. I will miss her but knowing that she is in a much better place with people who will really love her will give me the peace of mind I need in letting her go.

Daisy Rose was left in our neighborhood. We brought her into our family with Gabbe, a miniature Schnauzer and Sophie, a toy Manchester. We immediately fell in love, but knew Daisy Rose was just visiting. We posted her story on your web site and prayed. Daisy Rose was adopted by a wonderful young man, just graduated from college and had always wanted a Border Collie. We knew he was the one, and our answer to prayer. She is going to be loved and will have a perfect home. She will always have a special place in our hearts. Thank you, Rescue Me!

I think Rescue Me is great!!! Thank you so much for allowing me to post my dog's picture on there. It did help me because someone wonderful, Elaine Wilson- searched and found a foster home for my dog Bear to go to; however, when Elaine called me we had decided to keep Bear and just make it work. He was not the problem WE were. He is so loving and sweet. So eager to please, we could see he was trying and we were not trying hard enough. My husband and I cannot live without him. He deserves the best we can give him. Our schedules are changing but we will make it work. Thank you for being there for us and BEAR... This website is a great set up. I love that it is helping so many dogs find a home. We plan to make a donation as soon as we can.

I posted my dog on Rescue Me... I found him a new home in another state! They just sent me a picture of him in his new home and I could not be happier! I was at a loss of how to find a new home for my dog (he had been in my family for 6 years). We love our dog but with the kids getting older he was not getting the care or attention he needed. I was afraid I was going to have to have him put down because I didn't think I could find a home for him. I am so glad I found this site! Now we are all happy!! Thank you Rescue Me!

I thank you for your loving spirit and your recognition that all it takes to save an animal is humans working together. Sincerely, Ann

Within an hour of posting on RescueMe.Org, I received and email from a wonderful retired couple regarding my Border Collie 'Buddy'. After exchanging multiple emails over several hours, we arranged for them to come and visit. Until you meet someone face to face, you never know someone, but the instant we met I knew we had found Buddy's new 'forever home'. They instantly fell in love with Buddy and their two granddaughters were just patting the fur right off of him, and he seemed comfortable around them too. They gave us some time alone to say goodbye and promised they would stay in touch. Within a couple of hours we got a couple of emails showing us Buddy's new home and some pics of him relaxing. We couldn't have asked for anything more in making this process any easier for us or Buddy. I would recommend this site to anyone looking to rescue or find a new home for a family member. I just hope they have the same success as we did.

I think it is only because I treat my pooches with such unconditional love that it is hard for an pooch to adjust to anyone else. It so happens that AmpAngel has been my last pooch I well ever have to put up for adoption as I truly got attached to her & I can't go through adopting out anymore pooches. Thank you so much Recue Me. I have recommended your site to many others. I can only pray all pouches find awesome homes like Amp Angel did. God Bless

Several people were interested in Maggie. Unfortunately after several e-mails and appointments to come out to see her, no one showed up. This happened at least 6 times. Not sure why? So we reconsidered. We love Maggie. Our Lab that she didn't get along with, unfortunately passed away on Fathers day. We had her cremated and buried her under HER apple tree. Why should we have to give up such a sweet dog. Now Maggie is here to stay. My husband who was never wild about dogs, loves her. She still isn't good on walking with a leash but, we throw her many toys around, she chases them and is getting lots of exercise. She loves being an only dog and is definitely thriving. Sometimes we have to give someone a second chance. I'm glad we gave one to Maggie Phyllis & Howard Karl

About 4 years ago on Christmas Eve, we found our rescue Border Collie dragging a small but painful 'jaw' trap up our road. It had attached to the toes of one of his front feet. He was clearly in a lot of pain and very distressed. We took him in and got him the medical treatment he needed. We neutered him and micro chipped him as we do all of our pets. Since my son in law was the first to see him, we named him after him. His name is Flip, so the collie became 'Flippie.' Flippie is a wonderful loving dog. He had only one issue. HE WANTED TO HERD! He herded our other dogs until they didn't like him any more. We had to separate him from them. Then, he would become very frustrated and bark. That agitated the other dogs. He wanted to herd our horses, and that wasn't going to happen for all of their safety. He wanted to herd everything. Believing that herding was what he really wanted to do, I posted him on this website, looking for someone to take him and herd with him. A lovely lady who lived in a neighboring state, did come for him. However, when she took him to 'Sheep herding school,' it was determined that Flippie was terrified of sheep! There was no consoling him. EVERYONE was amazed. As much as this lady loved Flippie, she really needed a herding collie for her farm. So, she gave him some much needed obedience training and searched her area for a home for him. Not far away was a lovely family who wanted a collie. They fell in love with Flippie. They had no other dogs. They took Flippie and gave him a forever home. Flippie is a wonderful dog. He just needed a perfect fit. Thanks to 'Rescue Me' and the lovely people who took him, he found one.

I'm not giving her up because I don't love her, I just can't give her what she needs. I tried, but fighting cancer not being able to go and throw a ball for her is just not fair to Bailey. She was abused before I took her and will need lots of love and care to get her thru. I can only hope her new owner will love her, I think she will make a great dog for her!      I had a perfect experience...although Nenca has only been with me a week, it is clear she is a perfect fit and friend for life. The Family that nurtured her for the few years she's been on earth did a wonderful job considering what she went through. She was in the perfect foster family, and I know for a fact, that if circumstances were different they would have happily kept her. I can not praise Della enough for her hard work and immense love. She is an angel. As far as Nenca is concerned: this little lady still has some work ahead of her, but I know she'll be OK. She's got spunk under her quiet shy exterior. ALL these dogs deserve that chance. If I wasn't in an apartment that had foster restrictions....and a bigger place at that, I would surely volunteer my efforts in fostering, since I do have nearly 20 years in Border Collie experience (2 dogs under my belt; one of which that lived to a ripe old 17 years!!!) and Lots of patience and love to give to them as well. I pray each and every doggy finds their forever home with kind, good people. I can't promise instantly, but I intend to send donations your way. Good luck and love!! ~Lia

Hi Jeff, Thank you so much for creating this site. It is so easy and quick to upload pictures and information to. The networking this site does with other rescues is amazing. I have had many adopters tell me that they were just googling 'border collie rescues,' for example, and found my dog on your site! The added exposure has been phenomenal. I am the rescue and adoptions coordinator (a happily volunteered position!) at Chester County Animal Shelter in Chester SC. Two years ago, we had virtually no adopters or exposure to rescues. The euthanasia rate was 99%. This mean that only 1% of all the dogs and cats coming in to our shelter ever made it out. Through the hard and dedicated work of a very small handful of people, the euthanasia rate has fallen to 25%!! This is unheard of for a county shelter. We are very small, and are built to house 64 dogs. However, the summer brought a record number of turn-ins and strays. We usually run at about 100+ daily. We have a tiny budget. We have relied almost exclusively on the internet to get the word out about our GREAT animals to rescues and to adopters. In closing, your site has allowed us to adopt over a dozen animals in the past month alone. We are so happy to have you out there as a champion for our pets, and for ALL pets in shelters, waiting for their forever families to find them! Take care and keep up the amazing work! They work on a Dairy Farm and have Cows, Goats, Chickens and all kinds of other farm animals, plus he will have 2 brothers to play with. He was very weary of them today when he first went with them, but they said as soon as they arrived at the farm, it was as if he grew up there. Linda, the lady who took him, has kept me up on everything since she look him today. I am VERY happy for him and I couldn't have found a better place for him!! It feels great to have found him a good home. Just wanted to say THANK YOU!! Paula

We have found a home for Mia! Her adoptive family is very excited to have her. Mia's new owner is excited about all that she already knows how to do, & all he plans to teach her. Border Collies are very smart & he is excited about seeing her progress. We think Mia has a lot of potential & are sad to see her go, but know that she will be better off with an owner that has the land to offer her & the time to spend with her that she deserves. It was difficult knowing we had to say goodbye to Mia, but we are thankful that Rescue Me! helped us find a good adoptive fit for her. Thank You! Chris & Karen
